Position Overview: Taymar Sales U.’s Director of Sponsorship & Ticket Sales position will be responsible for the leadership and management of the corporate sponsorship & ticket sales program at Lake Superior State University. Duties to include generating new revenue in both sponsorships and ticket sales, renewal and management of existing accounts, activation, achievement of sales goals and consistent relationship building within the community for the Athletic Department.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on external revenue generation by implementing successful strategies to increase sponsorship and ticket sales.
- Act as a representative of the Lake Superior State athletics department, which includes an emphasis on external prospecting and customer interaction, including in-person meetings in the community.
- Actively engage in the entire corporate sponsorship sales process, including servicing corporate sponsor accounts, activation, and fulfillment.
- Development of sound and strategic pricing and packaging protocols, for sponsorships and tickets.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all internal & external units of the department and University, including establishing meaningful relationships with campus units.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment to create opportunities and produce revenue.
- Generate reports and accurately track revenue towards goals.
- This is a full-time, on-site role, with a daily, in-person presence. The successful candidate must be able to work athletic events, which may take place in the evenings / weekends.
- Achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals established by senior management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Sports Marketing or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years tickets sales or sponsorship sales experience with quantitative results and a proven track record preferred.
- Effective communication skills a must (written, oral and interpersonal).
- Command of typical business software platforms, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
- Comfort with business development activities and ability to build relationships quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team to solve problems effectively and independently.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, communication skills, and desire & ability to learn in a fast paced, highly competitive industry
