About the Mississippi Mud Monsters
The Mississippi Mud Monsters are a professional baseball team entering our second season in Pearl. A great game starts with a great field, and our grounds crew plays a huge role in making Trustmark Park look and play its best every day.
This role is about learning the craft of professional baseball field maintenance and being part of the team that prepares the playing surface players trust and fans expect.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for hardworking, detail-oriented students who want hands-on experience in professional baseball groundskeeping.
As a Grounds Crew Intern, you will work closely with the Head Groundskeeper and operations staff to maintain the field and surrounding areas at Trustmark Park. You will learn what it takes to care for a professional baseball surface day in and day out.
This is a seasonal internship that runs for the duration of the baseball season.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with daily field maintenance, including mowing and edging.
- Help with fertilizing and approved pesticide applications under supervision.
- Maintain clay surfaces, including the infield, mound, and home plate area.
- Maintain the warning track and surrounding field areas.
- Assist with preparation of the field for games, practices, and events.
- Support postgame field maintenance and reset.
- Assist with general stadium and field presentation as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Head Groundskeeper.

What We’re Looking For
- Student or recent graduate with an interest in turf management, sports operations, or facilities work.
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the internship from start to finish.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the baseball schedule.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Passion for baseball and working as part of a team.
- Previous grounds or turf experience is a plus, but not required.
The Details
- Seasonal internship based at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
- Compensation is $750 per month.
- This role offers hands-on experience in professional baseball field maintenance and operations.
