The Sydney Blue Sox are seeking a passionate and creative Content Creator / Videographer to join our media team for the 2026/27 Australian Baseball League season.
This is an opportunity to spend an Australian summer embedded within a professional baseball organisation, helping tell the story of one of the country’s most exciting sports teams through short-form video, social media, and fan-focused digital content.

We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes modern sports content - someone who understands how to capture emotion, entertainment, atmosphere, and personality in a way that connects with audiences online.
While videography and editing are the primary focus of this role, we’re also looking for someone comfortable operating across broader social media and content responsibilities, including posting content, writing captions, creating Instagram Stories, basic photo editing and graphics, and understanding how content should differ across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
This role works closely with Ever Brands (our digital marketing agency leading strategy and content development), Barefoot Media Productions (our long-form production partners), the ABL media team, Sydney Blue Sox staff, interns, players, and coaches.

The Sydney Blue Sox compete in the Australian Baseball League (ABL), Australia’s premier professional baseball competition featuring domestic and international talent, including current and former MLB, MiLB, NCAA, and national team athletes.

Our content style is fast-paced, entertaining, emotional, and social-first - designed to appeal to both hardcore baseball fans and casual audiences discovering the sport for the first time.
What You’ll Be Doing
Content Creation & Videography
- Capture high-quality short-form video content across the season
- Produce engaging content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and Stories
- Showcase the sights, sounds, energy, and atmosphere of game days
- Create player-focused, fan-focused, and behind-the-scenes content
- Capture hype moments, celebrations, interviews, and community interactions
- Edit content quickly for real-time posting and engagement
- Assist with basic photography and game day visual storytelling
Social Media & Digital Content
- Assist with posting content across Blue Sox social platforms
- Write engaging and platform-appropriate social media captions
- Create and upload Instagram Stories and game day updates
- Follow the Sydney Blue Sox visual identity and style guide
- Understand platform trends and adapt content accordingly
- Assist with simple graphic design and photo editing where required
- Work collaboratively with interns and the broader media team to maintain consistent content output
Collaboration & Creative Development
- Work closely with Ever Brands on campaign direction, strategy, and weekly priorities
- Collaborate with Barefoot Media Productions on larger storytelling initiatives and long-form productions
- Coordinate with the ABL media team on league-wide collaborations and player promotions
- Work with players and coaches to create engaging social-first content
- Help mentor and guide local and international social media interns throughout the season
- Contribute ideas for trends, theme nights, activations, and fan engagement initiatives
Pre-Season Responsibilities
The role will likely begin before arrival in Australia through onboarding and remote collaboration opportunities.
Pre-season may include:
- Accessing and reviewing the Blue Sox content library
- Learning the Blue Sox brand style, tone of voice, and content approach
- Creating remote pre-season content and hype material
- Assisting with player announcements, schedule reveals, and campaign rollouts
- Collaborating on Media Day planning and creative concepts
- Producing social-first edits and promotional content ahead of Opening Day
In-Season Responsibilities
- Attend all Sydney Blue Sox home games throughout the season
- Capture pre-game, in-game, and post-game content
- Attend at least one mid-week training session each week
- Develop weekly content plans around themes, milestones, promotions, and opponents
- Produce real-time short-form content during games and events
- Create engaging fan content, interviews, player features, and “day in the life” style content
- Support collaborations with league partners, sponsors, and Baseball NSW initiatives
- Assist with community events, activations, and promotional campaigns
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong videography and editing skills
- Understanding of modern sports and entertainment content
- Experience creating short-form social media content
- Knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging trends
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable managing multiple content priorities at once
- Willingness to work nights and weekends during the season
- Passion for storytelling, sports, and fan engagement
- Understanding of baseball or willingness to learn quickly
Preferred
- Experience working in sports media or live events
- Basic photography and graphic design skills
- Experience managing or posting to social media accounts
- Ability to create content natively for different platforms
- Experience working with athletes, creators, or influencers

*Please note: Flights, accommodation, visas, and general living expenses are not included as part of this role and will be organised independently by the successful applicant. However, the remuneration package has been designed to help make spending a summer in Australia working within professional baseball both realistic and sustainable.
Season & Commitment
The Australian Baseball League season runs across the Australian summer (approximately November 2026 – January 2027), with pre-season onboarding occurring beforehand.
All Sydney Blue Sox home games are played Thursday to Sunday.
Applicants should be available for the entire season and comfortable relocating to Sydney for the duration of the role.
