Sports Department Admin Job Description
The YMCA is searching for a responsible and organized Sports Admin to assist the Program Director with the sports programs that exceeds the expectations of the members, program participants and the community. He/She must be able to grow and expand all programs as well as develop new program initiatives that will expand the services of the YMCA and have a greater connection into our community. He/She must be a team player and must attend all meetings that are deemed necessary. Incumbent should be outgoing and able to interact with staff, members, program participants, volunteers and the community in a positive way.
The Sports Admin must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends. He/She must be a self starter that is focused on building strong relationships. He/She must have strong organizational and planning skills and must be able to manage multiple priorities. He/She must have a commitment and passion for working with youth and families and have excellent customer service. He/She must be able to work independently and be able to problem-solve. He/She must be an excellent communicator understanding the importance and follow-thru of communication with all branch staff, participants,
volunteers and the community. He/She must be proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite. He/She must be teachable and willing to learn. He/She must be able to complete required trainings including but not limited to First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Harassment, and New Staff Orientation within the first 30 days.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting the Sports Directors with league structure and organization
• Assist with pre-season tasks such as team rostering, registration, and coordinating
volunteers
• Monitor game sites as needed
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required
