Sporting Palm Coast is seeking experienced, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Competitive Staff Coaches to join our growing program. The ideal candidate will have previous soccer coaching experience, a strong understanding of youth player development, and a commitment to professionalism, communication, collaboration, and creating a positive environment for players and families.
This position is well suited for individuals with a consistent schedule who are seeking supplemental income while contributing to the development of competitive youth soccer players. Team assignments will be based on the candidate’s coaching qualifications, experience, availability, preferred age groups, and the needs of the club.

Schedule and Availability
Candidates should be available for the following:

 Weekday evening training sessions after 5:30 p.m.
 Saturday and/or Sunday games, generally between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
 Weekend tournaments and club events as scheduled
 Occasional staff meetings, player evaluations, and parent meetings
 Local and regional travel for league games and tournaments

The exact schedule will depend on the coach’s team assignment and seasonal competition calendar. Reliable and
consistent availability is required.

Compensation will be based on:

 Coaching experience
 U.S. Soccer licensing
 Team assignment
 Level of competition
 Travel expectations
 Additional administrative or program responsibilities

Additional compensation or bonus opportunities may be available for camps, clinics, supplemental programming, or other club initiatives.

Reports To
Director of Coaching, Sporting Palm Coast
The coach may also collaborate with Sporting Palm Coast administrators, Sporting Jax technical leadership, and
other members of the Sporting Jax Soccer Academy staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 Serve as the head coach for one or more Sporting Palm Coast competitive teams.
 Design, organize, and lead age-appropriate training sessions.
 Ensure training sessions align with Sporting Palm Coast and Sporting Jax Academy’s player-
development curriculum and club methodology.
 Prepare teams for league play, tournaments, showcases, and other scheduled competitions.
 Assess the technical, tactical, physical, and developmental needs of players.
 Complete player evaluations and assist with individual Player Development Plans.
 Conduct player and parent meetings as needed.
 Establish clear expectations for players and families.
 Communicate team schedules, expectations, and program information clearly and professionally.
 Coordinate with club administrators regarding game schedules, tournaments, field assignments, rosters,
and team operations.
 Maintain accurate attendance, evaluation, roster, and team records.
 Utilize technology and club operating systems, including video-analysis platforms, Google Workspace,
and team-management software.
 Create a positive team environment based on respect, accountability, effort, sportsmanship, and player
development.
 Manage player behavior and reinforce club standards during practices, games, tournaments, and club
events.
 Collaborate with Sporting Palm Coast and Sporting Jax Academy coaches, directors, and administrators.
 Participate in staff meetings, coaching education, evaluations, and club-development initiatives.
 Support tryouts, camps, clinics, supplemental evaluations, and other player-development activities when
assigned.
 Represent Sporting Palm Coast and Sporting Jax Soccer Academy professionally at all times.
 Perform additional coaching or administrative responsibilities based on the candidate’s experience and
the needs of the club.

Minimum Requirements

 Must be at least 18 years of age.
 Current U.S. Soccer D License or higher.
 Minimum of two years of soccer coaching experience.
 Previous experience working with children or youth athletes.
 Strong understanding of age-appropriate player development and training-session design.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills.
 Ability to communicate professionally with players, parents, coaches, administrators, and club
leadership.
 Ability to work effectively in a collaborative staff environment.
 Dependable, organized, and prompt in all communication.
 Consistent availability for assigned weekday evening and weekend responsibilities.
 Reliable transportation to and from practices, games, meetings, tournaments, and other club activities.
 Ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally for scheduled competitions.
 Ability to complete all required background checks, screenings, and youth-sports safety training.

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience coaching multiple age groups or levels of competition.
 Experience using video-analysis platforms such as Veo.
 Familiarity with Google Workspace and youth soccer club-management systems.
 Current CPR and AED certification.
 Current SafeSport certification.
 Experience conducting player evaluations or creating Player Development Plans.
 Experience contributing to coaching curriculum, club administration, or program development.

Knowledge and Skills

 Comprehensive knowledge of competitive youth soccer, age-appropriate training methods, and long-
term player development.
 Ability to evaluate player performance and adapt instruction to different abilities, learning styles, and
developmental needs.
 Ability to provide clear instruction, constructive feedback, and positive reinforcement.
 Strong team-management skills with the ability to create an environment built on respect, accountability,
effort, and sportsmanship.
 Sound judgment and flexibility when responding to attendance changes, weather conditions, field
limitations, injuries, and other unexpected circumstances.
 Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with players, families, coaches, administrators,
referees, and community partners.
 Proficiency with technology used for team communication, scheduling, player evaluation, video
analysis, and club administration.
 Commitment to continued coaching education, professional development, and regular self-evaluation.

While performing the duties of this position, the coach may be required to:

 Stand and walk for extended periods.
 Demonstrate soccer movements, exercises, and technical activities.
 Work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
 Work during weekday evening and weekend hours.
 Communicate in active and potentially noisy environments.
 Move, carry, and organize soccer equipment.
 Occasionally lift or move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
 Travel between practice, game, tournament, meeting, and club-event locations.
 Use computers, mobile devices, video platforms, and team-management software.
