Position Overview

The Membership Manager position is responsible for developing an effective value proposition to attract and retain member leagues and associations, as well as to drive an increase in youth participation at the grassroots level. This includes managing a recruiting process to engage with prospective new members, providing resources to serve existing members, and building the brand to appeal to youth participation. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Display a growth mindset in developing opportunities and programs to sustain Pop Warner as the leading national youth football and cheer & dance governing body.
  • Exhibit a sense of mission in committing to Pop Warner’s vision, mission, core values and strategic priorities.
  • Create and execute recruitment strategies and outreach to grow Pop Warner membership by adding new leagues and associations.
  • Develop and deliver member benefits, resources and services that support the administration of member leagues and associations.
  • Coordinate marketing and communications programs, including, but not limited to, brand building, grassroots activation programs, original content development, social media executions and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate on corporate partnership development and activation programs that are mutually beneficial to Pop Warner and its respective partners, as well as provide resources to enhance the member experience.
  • Assist with development and management of key events, particularly the annual Pop Warner Super Bowl and Cheer & Dance Nationals, as well as other PWLS-owned events.
  • Work closely with colleagues to drive key agendas set by the national organization; may be directly responsible for different initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Business or Sport Management degree preferred
  • 3-4 years of previous sport or hospitality management experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and comfort with email marketing and social media
  • Quick learner on software programs
  • Outstanding communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Work Conditions

Pop Warner is led by a national staff that is supported by an extended staff of regional volunteers – the regional management teams. Its participant members include leagues, associations and families that are primarily located across the United States.

The Membership Manager position will require flexibility, as it includes some travel, as well as occasional weeknight and weekend hours to engage with our network of volunteers.
