Position Overview
The Certification Lead is responsible for overseeing all player and coach certification processes during events. This role ensures that all participants meet eligibility requirements, rosters are accurate, and check-in operations run efficiently.

This is a leadership role that manages Certification Staff, resolves eligibility issues, and ensures compliance with event rules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the player and coach check-in process across all events
  • Oversee Certification Staff, including training, support, and day-to-day direction
  • Monitor real-time check-ins and resolve delays, issues, or escalations quickly
  • Communicate with coaches, players, and parents regarding certification requirements
  • Ensure a professional, organized, and efficient check-in experience

Player Eligibility
  • Review and verify player eligibility, including age and grade requirements
  • Resolve roster discrepancies, eligibility flags, and exceptions
  • Ensure all rosters are finalized by required deadlines
  • Oversee use of the Passport platform for check-ins, roster updates, and verification tracking
  • Ensure all player profiles are complete, including photos and required documentation
  • Maintain accurate records and confirm all participants are verified before competition

Qualifications
  • Ability to lead, support, and hold a team accountable
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing rosters, and eligibility requirements
  • Quick problem-solving and real-time decision-making
  • Comfortable interacting with coaches, players, and staff in a professional manner
  • Tech-savvy with experience using tablets or willingness to learn new systems (Passport)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work full weekend event schedules

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in certification, check-in, registration, or event operations
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in events, sports, or operations
  • Background in youth sports or familiarity with tournament structures
