New England Golf and Tennis Camp is seeking a Kitchen Manager and Chef to lead our food service operation for Summer 2026. This is a leadership role for a professional who values organization, nutrition, efficiency, and teamwork.

You will direct all aspects of camp dining while serving a residential community of athletes and staff. Your work fuels training, recovery, and daily performance.

Position Purpose

The Kitchen Manager and Chef oversees the full food service operation including menu planning, purchasing, preparation, service, sanitation, staffing, and compliance.

You set the tone in the kitchen. You create systems. You lead your team with clarity and accountability.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage Daily Food Service Operations
  • Plan and prepare balanced meals for campers and staff
  •  Design menus that support active youth athletes
  •  Oversee preparation, cooking, and service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  •  Coordinate meals for cookouts, special events, and overnights
  •  Ensure meals are served on schedule and in an organized manner
  •  Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation

Inventory, Ordering, and Facility Oversight
  • Manage food and supply inventory
  •  Order food and kitchen supplies based on enrollment and menu planning
  •  Control costs and work within an established budget
  •  Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety
  •  Oversee kitchen, dining hall, storage, and waste management systems
  •  Ensure compliance with all state and local health regulations
  •  Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment

Personnel Management
  • Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff
  •  Create daily and weekly staff schedules
  •  Provide clear expectations and ongoing feedback
  •  Monitor staff performance and address concerns promptly
  •  Communicate regularly with Camp Director regarding operations

Pre Season and Ongoing Duties
  • Prepare kitchen for health department inspection prior to camp opening
  •  Attend leadership meetings and staff trainings
  •  Follow all camp policies and safety procedures
  •  Maintain open communication with camp leadership and staff

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 21
  •  Food Protection Manager Certification required
  •  Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in food service
  •  Experience in institutional or high volume kitchen preferred
  •  Strong understanding of food ordering, budgeting, and inventory control
  •  Knowledge of special dietary needs and allergy management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current health and safety regulations
  •  Ability to manage a fast paced kitchen environment
  •  Strong organizational and leadership skills
  •  Clear communicator with staff and leadership
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities during peak service times

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
 Ability to stand and move for extended periods
 Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment
 Ability to work in a high energy, residential camp environment
