Job Type: Internship (Part-Time, 20-24 hours/week)
Compensation: College credit for college students; unpaid for recent graduates
Company: MADE HMBL Gym (a MADE Hoops facility)
Location: On-Site (Fort Greene, Brooklyn, NY)
Reports To: Marketing Manager
Company Description
MADE HMBL Gym is a premier basketball player development facility in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, built in partnership between MADE Hoops and HMBL. We offer private, semi-private, and group training alongside strength and plyometrics programming for athletes of all ages and levels. MADE Hoops is the premier grassroots basketball events organization in North America. Founded in 2014, our mission has always been Maximizing Athletes' Development and Exposure (MADE). We host 100+ boys and girls basketball events annually, including competitive camps for all ages, middle school and high school tournaments, and the top independent high school circuit in the country. We're proud to have countless McDonald's All-Americans, NCAA athletes, and NBA stars among our alumni. The gym extends that mission into a year-round home for Brooklyn's next generation of hoopers.
About the Role
We're looking for a resourceful, community-minded Marketing Intern to help grow MADE HMBL Gym's local presence and member base for 15-20 hours per week. This is a hands-on, on-site role at our Fort Greene facility where you'll do a little bit of everything: capturing content during live training sessions, deploying email campaigns, building our review engine, writing ad copy, and researching the competitive landscape. If you want to learn what it actually takes to market a brick-and-mortar business from the ground up, this is that opportunity.
Your Job:
Help fill our training sessions and grow the gym's reputation in Brooklyn. You'll work directly with our Director of Marketing and alongside the gym's General Management, Creative, and Training staff to drive reviews, execute email and social campaigns, support paid advertising, and surface insights that shape how we go to market.

- QA every send before it goes out: links, UTMs, subject lines, preview text, and mobile rendering

- Support ongoing automated flows including welcome, post-session follow-up, and win-back
Social Media & Paid Advertising (50%)
- Capture photo and short-form video on-site during training sessions, group classes, and events

- Schedule and publish posts, monitor comments and DMs, and route member questions to the right team member

- Assist with building, duplicating, and publishing ads in Meta Ads Manager; help monitor pacing and flag creative fatigue
- Keep our content library and asset folders organized and named consistently
Research, Partnerships & Reporting (10%)
- Conduct ongoing competitor analysis of NYC-area training facilities and gyms - pricing, programming, promotional offers, social cadence, ad creative, and review profiles
- Build and maintain a competitive tracker updated monthly with screenshots and takeaways

- Assist with partnership outreach and follow-up
- Maintain a simple marketing dashboard covering reviews, email performance, social growth, ad results, and session bookings
- Present a short monthly recap of wins, learnings, and recommendations
What Success Looks Like:
- Within 30 days: you're independently running the review request process and publishing to social on schedule
- Within 60 days: you're building and deploying email campaigns with minimal edits and maintaining the competitive tracker
- Within 90 days: you've measurably grown our review count and rating, built a usable partnership pipeline, and have a portfolio of content the gym is actively using
