Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior Controller who will be a key player in our finance department, providing essential support to ensure financial health and strategic growth of the company.  This role is a vital part of our finance and accounting team, ideal for someone who is looking for an opportunity for high growth potential in a dynamic company.

Key Responsibilities
The Junior Controller is responsible for supporting the Director of Finance and managing and maintaining MADE’s daily accounting operations which includes:

Financial Record Keeping
  • Oversee and perform all financial bookkeeping, including AP and AR tracking and processes.
  • Maintain and update general ledger entries.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.

Financial Reporting
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and relevant stakeholders (both internal and external).
  • Analyze data to determine trends and variances.
  • Ad hoc reporting and financial presentations.

Budgeting, Review, and Forecasting
  • Assist in the developments of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual expenses against budgets and record and report deviations.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain budgets on a daily basis.
  • Support cost control initiatives.

Support Director of Finance as needed and collaborate cross-departmentally
  • Maintain strong internal controls and assist company in implementing best practices.
  • Participate in special projects for system and process improvements and implementations.
  • Provide data as needed to ensure company success.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 
  • 1-3 years experience in accounting or finance role. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), as well as Quickbooks and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting required.
  • Ability to juggle, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making and reporting.
