Job Overview:
MADE Hoops is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Event Merchandising Manager to oversee on-site merchandise operations during our events. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at inventory management, and can lead and support on-site merchandise staff while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for executing all merchandise sales operations while managing and directing additional merchandise staffers on-site. This position requires availability to travel most weekends to MADE Hoops events. All required event-related travel and lodging will be provided by MADE Hoops.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchandise Operations
- Set up and break down merchandise tables, ensuring a clean, professional, and on-brand display.
- Conduct accurate opening and closing inventory counts for all merchandise.
- Manage and process all transactions using Shopify POS (smartphone required).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked merchandise area throughout the event.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking the display as needed.
- Handle all card transactions (MADE Hoops is a cashless operation).
- Pack and organize unsold merchandise at the end of events and prepare items for transport.
- Communicate inventory needs, discrepancies, or customer feedback to MADE Hoops leadership.
Staff Management + Leadership
- Oversee, manage, and support on-site merchandise sales associates.
- Assign roles and responsibilities to staffers during events.
- Ensure staff are punctual, professional, and provide excellent customer service.
- Serve as the main point of contact for merchandise staff during events.
- Troubleshoot issues related to staffing, inventory, POS systems, or customer concerns in real time.
- Help train and onboard merchandise staff on processes, expectations, and POS usage.
Customer Experience
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selection.
Ensure the merchandise area reflects the MADE Hoops brand in professionalism and presentation.
Address and resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Prior retail, event merchandising, or sales experience (resume required).
- Previous experience managing or leading staff strongly preferred.
- Willingness and availability to travel most weekends to MADE Hoops events (required).
- Reliable transportation for local events.
- Strong communication skills and responsiveness via phone.
- Professional and friendly demeanor; must represent the MADE Hoops brand positively.
- Smartphone with reliable data connection for Shopify POS usage.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with inventory and cashless transactions.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
