Role Overview
The Accounting Manager will support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of MADE Sports and its related businesses. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting a timely month end close, and ensuring consistent accounting processes across the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, is organized and detail oriented, and is looking for an opportunity to take on increased responsibility and grow within the finance function. Prior management experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month End Close
- Manage and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Review financial activity for accuracy and proper classification.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and consistent accounting records across entities.
Core Accounting Operations
- Manage day to day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Coordinate vendor payments and customer collections.
- Support payroll processing and related accounting entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and classified.
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
Cash Management
- Monitor bank activity and cash balances.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with transfers.
- Support cash flow reporting and short-term cash forecasting.
Accounting Controls & Processes
- Maintain accounting procedures and supporting documentation.
- Ensure appropriate approvals and documentation are maintained for transactions.
- Help improve accounting workflows and internal processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Systems & Automation
- Maintain accounting and finance systems.
- Help improve automation across accounting, reporting, and approvals.
- Support integrations between accounting, payroll, expense management, banking, and other systems.
- Assist with improving financial reporting and visibility.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Prepare budget versus actual reporting.
- Assist with variance analysis and other financial reporting as needed.
Audit, Tax & Compliance Support
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external accountants, auditors, and tax providers.
- Assist with sales tax, payroll tax, and other financial compliance requirements.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Experience with month end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting is a plus.
- Experience in sports, events, media, or a growing business environment is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- CPA is not required.
- Prior management experience is not required.
