Koa Sports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to Shape Kids' Lives Through Sports. Koa Sports Multisport and Activities Camp is a recreational day camp for children in grades PreK to 6th Grade. Koa Sports is seeking dedicated camp counselors who can coach and assist with the daily operations of an active day camp. At Koa, we pride ourselves on creating a positive environment for our campers and their families. 

Work Schedule: 
Summer 2026: June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026 (35 - 40 hours per week)
 *Must be available to work at least 4 camp weeks*
  • Core Camp Hours: Monday through Friday 9am – 3pm
  • Before Care: 8am - 9am
  • After Care: 3pm – 5pm

Camp Weeks: Must be able to work 4 at least 4 weeks
Week 1: June 22 – 26 | Week 2: June 29 – July 2 | Week 3: July 6 – 10
Week 4: July 13 – 17 | Week 5: July 20 – 24 | Week 6: July 27 – 31
Week 7: August 3 - 9 | Week 8: August 10 - 14
*Pre-Sessions: June 8 - 12, June 15 - 19 and Post-Session: August 17-21
 
Camp Location(s)
  • Main Camp Location: CESJDS Upper School (11710 Hunters Ln, Rockville, MD 20852)
  • Other Camp locations in Bethesda, Kensington, Rockville, and Olney (Swim & Tennis Club and Private School Locations)  

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, lead, encourage, and engage kids in various activities, sports, and specialized activities including but not limited to street hockey, soccer, kickball, dodgeball, basketball, wiffle-ball, PE games, board/card games, arts & crafts, and water play
  • Demonstrate use of sport recreational equipment and teaches participants the principles, techniques, and safety procedures for each activity.
  • Build and maintain open communication with campers and Koa camp staff 
  • Assist the camp director and other camp counselors with the daily operations of summer camp including but not limited to pick-up, drop-off, equipment inventory, camp health procedures
  • Must have own transportation for the duration of employment 

Experience, Abilities, and Qualifications 
  • Previous experience working with children or caring for children.
  • Experience playing or coaching various sports/PE games.  
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive attitude.
  • Must be able to get to work on time. 

Compensation: $16.00 - $16.75
