Job Summary- Koa is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Rockville, Maryland. We are a dynamic, fun, growing company, with a bleeding passion for sports! We have roughly a dozen full time employees and a part time staff of over 200 and looking for more all-stars. The Koa Baseball Department offers a local in house/select league, as well as competitive travel baseball.  We also have high academic HS showcase teams and a team that competes in the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League. There will be at least 6 weeks of outdoor summer baseball camps.  In addition, Koa boasts a state of the art indoor baseball training facility with many of the latest technology, including a Rapsodo 2.0.
This position is responsible for helping out with many aspects of the programs listed above.

The job is located at a few different sites, including but not limited to the Koa Sports Physical Office- 9200 Corporate Blvd Rockville, MD and well as the indoor training facility located at 1801 Chapman Avenue Rockville, MD.  There will also be travel to local fields and parks for camp/events. This position reports to Koa's Baseball Operations Team. 

Responsibilities & Duties:
Master Koa's systems, including but not limited to: Humanity, Team Snap, Social Media (IG, Facebook, and YouTube)
Assist with camp and help manage staffing
Assist with setup and breakdown of camp equipment and storage
Work directly with the Koa Sports front office baseball staff

Qualifications & Skills:
Played at least high school baseball (college experience is preferred)
Working knowledge of baseball technology
Understanding of the college recruiting process for baseball players
Effectively throw batting practice and hit fungos 
Proficient use of a radar gun, pocket radar and ability to operate a Rapsodo
Proficient communication, verbal and electronic
Excellent problem solver
Can lift heavy bags of at least 40 pounds of equipment
Can complete 20 continuous push ups in 30 seconds or less
General understanding on how to maintain a baseball field, including but not limited to, raking, tarping, locking fields, taking pictures of a field, and mound care (tamping, fill dirt, etc…)

Position: Your title will be Koa Sports/Waves Baseball Operations Intern. You will report to our Koa's Baseball Administrative team. This is a seasonal Summer internship. Employment offer is contingent upon a passed federal background check.

Credits: This position is a non-paid internship, however you will receive college credit or SSL hours. Please send your supervisor the necessary paperwork from your school in order to receive credit for this position.
 ***Opportunity for a paid summer coaching position. 

Employment Relationship: Employment with Koa Sports is from June 1 to August 1. Your employment with the company will be “at will” meaning that either you or the company may terminate your internship at any time and for any reason, with or without cause. If tasks are completed properly, and there is interest, there are opportunities for future part-time work.
