Camp Laurel South, among the most prestigious, well-respected camps in the country, is seeking qualified Softball Coaches and Counselors for the summer of 2026. We offer quality instruction designed to allow children to participate in activities they love, while also allowing them to explore new and exciting opportunities. Your primary goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters skill development, teamwork, and a love for the game of softball.

Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning and Instruction:
  • Develop and implement engaging softball drills and activities for campers.
  • Provide hands-on instruction to enhance fundamental skills such as batting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
Skill Development:
  • Assess campers' softball abilities and tailor instruction to their skill levels.
  • Focus on individual and group skill development, emphasizing proper techniques and strategies.
Gameplay and Strategy:
  • Organize and oversee friendly softball games and competitions.
  • Teach campers the rules of the game and instill an understanding of softball strategy.
Safety and Equipment Management:
  • Ensure a safe and organized environment for all softball activities.
  • Monitor the use and condition of equipment, reporting any issues and ensuring proper storage.
Teamwork and Sportsmanship:
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and good sportsmanship among campers.
  • Encourage a positive atmosphere where campers support each other both on and off the field.
Adaptability:
  • Be flexible and adaptable to accommodate campers with varying skill levels and learning styles.
  • Adjust plans as needed based on camper feedback and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in coaching or playing softball preferred.
  • Knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with campers of different ages and skill levels.
Duration: We are looking for a two-month commitment from June 16th - August 17th. We offer room and board for the duration of employment at camp.
