Job Description

The Nationall Mall location Commissioner is responsible for maintaining Volo standards at all league events at various locations on the National Mall. See responsibilities listed below.


Venue Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee various sports from volleyball to soccer, kickball, flag football, ultimate frisbee, bocce, and yoga
  • Set up venues across all sports including:
    • Equipment, shirts, check in station, music, name tags
  • Maintain equipment, noting damages, and reporting to the market’s equipment lead
  • Set up & take down fields and gather up equipment
  • Check in players using the host app
  • Supervise on field hosts & refs as needed 
  • Deescalate any situations that might arise 
  • Support trainings for the part-time hosts as well as all internal referees
  •  Recruit, mentor, and ensure quality staff and product 
  • Promote sponsor bar, events and upcoming leagues via social media and on-field selling
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Execute fundraising activities for kids foundation with the support of league hosts
  • Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
  • Must be available Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm- 8:30pm starting in April 2024

Qualifications

Must-Haves
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Work well in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure 
  • Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds
  • Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly
  • Must be available to work evenings
  • Proficient customer service skills
  • High School Diploma /GED Equivalency
  • 21 years of age or older
