Job Description

SUMMARY: The Volo DC Kickball Sport Commissioner is responsible for overseeing the implementation of high quality kickball leagues across DC.

Commissioner responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and approve weekly emails to league participants (when applicable)
  • Oversee league scores input in Volo Tech
  • Promote events and upcoming leagues via social media and on-field selling
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
  • Must be available at least 3 days/week (Tues-Thur) between 3pm-9pm.
  • Other league-day preparations, such as but not limited to:
    • Venue setup and supervision
    • Running Volo Pass daily programs/tournaments
    • Supervise staff & refs 
    • Support staff training
    • Manage staff substitution and step in as needed 
    • Welcome speeches
    • Week 1 and Playoff Support 
    • Communicate bar specials to players & staff
    • Expert in your sport and driven to create a top notch experience for your players
    • Support training in your market for kickball for hosts and referees 
    • Recruit, mentor, and ensure quality staff and product
    • Execute Kids fundraising activities with the support of league hosts

Qualifications

MUST-HAVES:

  • Flexibility to travel to various kickball venues across DMV area
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment
  • Can marshal resources effectively and comfortably navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
