Job Description
When you accept a position with Volo, you’ll be joining a passionate, driven group of innovators within the social sports industry. Referees are responsible for understanding and enforcing rules and safety guidelines in a friendly, competitive environment. This is a part-time role, great for anyone who likes being outside, enjoys sports, and is looking for supplemental income.
Lacrosse Referees responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players
- Understand and kindly and fairly enforce each sport’s rules
- Communicate with the office regarding any equipment, rule issues, player issues, etc.
- Serve as a representative for Volo on-field
- Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
- Other league-day preparations, such as field setup and supervision
- Make players feel welcome
Must-Haves
- Experience refereeing
- Lacrosse knowledge or willingness to learn the sport
- Located in the New York Metropolitan area
- Be Outgoing. You will be speaking to players.
- Interest in sports and social activities
- Strong attention to detail
- Works well in a team atmosphere
- Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure
- Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds
- Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly
- Must be available to work Sunday evenings from 8:00PM - 11:00PM
- Proficient customer service skills
- High School Diploma /GED Equivalency
- Access to Public Transportation
