Role Summary
Volo Sports is redefining social sports, community, and play across the country, and Volo Pass is at the center of that experience. We are seeking a strategic, hospitality-minded Membership Marketing Manager to help own, scale, and elevate the next generation of our membership ecosystem.
This role is responsible for building a best-in-class membership growth engine across acquisition, conversion, and lifecycle, while protecting the integrity of the member promise in every market. You will work cross-functionally with local market leadership, operations, product, creative, finance, and customer experience to drive sustainable membership growth and retention.
Responsibilities
Membership Revenue & Growth
Drive measurable growth of Volo Pass membership and revenue across acquisition, conversion, retention, and win-back. Build and execute campaigns that convert Volo players (league, pickup, captains, and lapsed users) into paying members and increase the value of the member base.
Develop and scale repeatable market playbooks that improve:
- Membership penetration
- Revenue per player
- Frequency of play
- Long-term retention
- Connect marketing performance directly to business outcomes including CAC, payback period, LTV, margin, and incremental revenue.
Frequency, Retention & Lifetime Value
Design lifecycle programs that increase:
- First-30-day activation
- Monthly play frequency
- Multi-sport participation
- Renewal and long-term retention
Build lifecycle and loyalty programs that move members from occasional players to habitual players and advocates. Continuously test offers, incentives, and messaging to maximize retention, reactivation, and referral-driven growth.
Member Satisfaction & Behavior Change
Translate the value of membership into messaging and experiences that drive measurable behavior change. Improve member satisfaction, engagement, and perceived value through targeted communications and benefit positioning. Reduce churn and increase renewal intent through data-driven messaging, offers, and timing aligned to member behavior.
Performance Marketing & Conversion Optimization
Improve funnel performance through segmentation, testing, and friction reduction across key touchpoints. Own an experimentation roadmap with clear hypotheses, success metrics, and measurable lift.
Scalable Growth Systems
Create simple, repeatable tools and campaigns that accelerate membership conversion at scale. Equip local markets with high-impact conversion tools that increase signups and upgrade rates. Build dashboards and reporting that show performance vs targets and highlight the biggest opportunities for growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with local market GMs to execute programming-aligned campaigns, gather insights, and improve market-specific value drivers. Partner with Creative to develop compelling membership assets and storytelling that convert without over-promising. Coordinate with Product and Operations to improve the membership funnel, booking flows, access windows, and messaging clarity.
Your Expected Skill Set & Experience
5+ years in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, subscription or membership marketing, or performance marketing. Proven success driving measurable growth through campaigns, funnels, and experimentation. Strong copy and messaging instincts; you can make the value simple, clear, and compelling. Analytical fluency; you can build a funnel view, run clean tests, and make decisions based on results. High ownership and bias to action in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Strong cross-functional skills and comfort influencing without authority. Passion for community-driven brands, hospitality, sports, wellness, or live experiences.
