SUMMARY
Our Full Stack Engineer will take a leadership role in the development of Volo’s web and mobile technical stack, and release process for a world-class, industry-changing product. This person will be the experienced, guiding voice and sounding board to the development team that supports the Volo mission. The Full Stack Engineer will be a highly visible member of a small, dynamic team focused on technical issues including software development, product releases, and engineering tasks.

Volo is looking for someone who can:
  • Lead architectural best practices (e.g., shared components, refactoring deprecations, adoption of TypeScript, containerized development & deployment).
  • Work with the development teams to define technical implementation and constraints of tasks and goals assigned to each sprint.
  • Distribute, follow up, and assist on feature assignments and tasks in progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and repair technical issues.
  • Set the direction and be the voice of the development team.
  • Ensure the team understands and follows major technical decisions while maintaining engineering excellence.
  • Organize and manage regular code reviews and release-related pull requests.
  • Mentor junior members of the team. 

Your expected skill set & experience: 
  • 5+ years of professional experience at a medium or large organization.
  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field.
  • Proficiency required in: React, GraphQL, MongoDB, Node, Firebase, Heroku, Git, CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with: Elixir, AWS, React Native, Asana, Jest.
  • AI-native tooling experience (i.e., experience with Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, etc.)
  • Effective time management and ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, confident interacting with senior leaders.
  • Ability to teach junior developers industry-standard practices and technologies.
  • Passion for using technology to transform businesses.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities.
  • Attention to detail and team orientation.
