ROLE SUMMARY
Volo Sports is seeking a high-energy, results-oriented Sales Associate to spearhead revenue growth for our national portfolio of Club Volo facilities. As our facilities continue to expand across the United States, we are looking for a commercial leader focused on maximizing the utilization rate of these premier venues.
The primary mission of this role is to drive facility activation during "off-peak" hours when our adult sports leagues are typically not in session. As a Sales Associate, you will be the engine of our outbound outreach efforts. Your goal is to identify and connect with local businesses, schools, and organizations to book their events, field trips, and meetings at our facilities. You will work closely with the Sales Manager and local General Managers to ensure our 50,000+ sq. ft. complexes are active and profitable throughout the entire day.
The ideal candidate has a "hunter" mindset with a proven ability to identify cold leads into booked events, similar to sales roles at national experiential brands like Topgolf, Bowlero, or Pinstripes.
Volo is looking for someone who can:
Outbound Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Active Hunting: Execute daily outbound sales activities, including cold calling and emailing, to build a pipeline of daytime facility users.
- Market Targeting: Research and identify potential daytime partners such as local school districts, summer camps, senior groups, and corporate HR departments.
- Lead Qualification: Rapidly respond to and qualify inbound inquiries for private rentals, birthday parties, and small-scale corporate outings.
Sales Execution & Pipeline Management
- Outbound Prospecting: Conduct high-volume outbound outreach to local and national businesses to build a robust pipeline of private events and facility buyouts.
- Lead Conversion: Respond rapidly to inbound inquiries, turning interest into confirmed bookings through site tours and persuasive presentations.
- CRM Stewardship: Maintain meticulous records of all sales activity in the CRM to forecast revenue and track utilization trends against established KPIs.
Collaborative Site Activation
- Event Coordination: Partner with Venue General Managers and the B2B corporate events team to ensure a seamless handoff from sales to on-site execution.
- Market-Specific Plans: In conjunction with Marketing, build and execute activation plans that create "buzz" and drive daytime community awareness for new and existing locations.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with facility vendors, event organizers, and service providers to safeguard revenue standards.
Your expected skill set & experience:
- 1-3+ years of experience in sales, retail, or hospitality, with a track record of meeting activity-based targets.
- Resilience & Drive: A "scrappy" and proactive attitude with the ability to handle rejection and remain focused on closing deals.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; comfortable picking up the phone and speaking with new prospects.
- Organizational Skills: High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple leads and tasks simultaneously.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in CRM platforms (such as Salesforce or Delphi) and Microsoft Office Suite.
"Wow" us with . . .
- Passion for Play: A genuine love for sports and community-building.
- Industry Experience: Direct experience selling multi-unit sports or entertainment venues.
- Entrepreneurial DNA: A scrappy, adaptable approach to building a "daytime" business line from the ground up.
- The "Rolodex": An existing network of HR leaders and event planners in major urban markets like Denver, NYC, Boston, or Baltimore.
Benefits:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) Plan
- Paid time off and holidays
- Paid Parental Leave
- Employee discounts on Volo Sports programs and events
- Annual Company Events
