Job Description
As a Referee for Volo Sports Flag Football, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that games are conducted in a safe, fair, and enjoyable manner. This part-time position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for sports and enjoy being outdoors.
Referee responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- You will be responsible for understanding and enforcing the rules of flag football while maintaining a friendly and competitive atmosphere
- Manage the game clock - Ensure games start on time and run smoothly by overseeing the setup and breakdown of fields.
- Communicate effectively with players, captains, and spectators to maintain a fair and positive game environment.
- Your role will involve not only officiating games but also communicating effectively with players and the Volo office regarding any issues that may arise, such as equipment concerns, rules, or player concerns
- Update league scores in our user interface
- Set up & take down field set up
- Meet players and make them feel welcome
Requirements
- Must have played the sport before
- Must have reliable transportation to and from field locations
- Must be able to pass Volo referee certification test
Nice-to-haves
- Prior referee experience a plus, but not required
- Experience in diffusing challenging situations
- People with a passion for sports and social activities
- Must value punctuality and professionalism
