Job Description
Volo Kids is looking for a hard working and detail oriented individual to join our organization and support the growth and execution of our afterschool program model. This individual must be able to speak English and Spanish fluently.
The selected candidate will work to build a quality experience for participants in our afterschool programs through curriculum development, program evaluation, and coach training. Additionally, this person will help us grow and maintain relationships with local schools.
The selected candidate will work both in the office and on site at afterschool programs as a coach.
Schedule: 5-10 hours per week, availability to work weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming Execution & Growth
- Serve as lead coach or site lead for local youth sports programs throughout the week
- Use Foundation curriculum and training materials on-site at each program, and adjust as needed to preserve the quality of training & programming
- Interact with parents of programs and enhance retention rates
- Send weekly in-season communications to parents and family
- Maintain program equipment, and oversee weekly on-site equipment set up and break down
- Track weekly program attendance for players and volunteers
- Leverage weekly game logs to provide feedback on program quality and experience
Customer Service
- Resolve any emerging problems that our players might face with accuracy and efficiency
- Provide proactive solutions on-site to prevent problems from arising in the future
- Act as first point of contact for players, parents, and volunteers
Marketing and Outreach
- Increase brand awareness for the Volo Kids Foundation through community events; be the outreach event lead & attend events as needed
- Strategically track growth in recruitment numbers for players and volunteers
- Execute local grassroots marketing efforts, including flyer and poster distribution, parent and volunteer communications, and community tabling events
- Promote Volo Kids programs in the communities we operate, and build valuable relationships with local schools, leaders, and like-minded organizations
Qualifications
MUST-HAVES
- Ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently
- Demonstrated success in leading program strategies with the ability to identify and respond to opportunities with tailoring, designing and managing innovative, high-quality programs
- Ability to work 5 to 10 hours a week, including weekends
- Can marshal resources effectively and comfortably navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented project manager – you have experience managing multiple projects across function areas and feel comfortable wearing many hats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dynamic personality interested in working in, and contributing to, a fun and active work environment - inside the office and out in the field!
