Position Overview
We’re looking for a commercially-minded General Manager to own end-to-end on-site sports and facility operations, sales & facility activation, and customer experience across 3 Club Volo sports facility complexes in Denver, CO, which are equipped with more than [50,000] square feet of multi-purpose indoor and outdoor space. The role will be initially focused on the successful launch of Volo Sports Arena, delivering Volo customers with a best-in-class sports product offering and driving growth & profitability at our newest facility.
The General Manager (GM) will serve as the senior leader responsible for the overall success, profitability, and reputation of Volo premier sports and hospitality venues in Denver, CO, including its recently built flagship location, Volo Sports Arena. This individual will own the Volo Sports Arena and South Broadway Club Volo P&Ls, and drive decision making across all aspects of venue operations, revenue generation, and on-site customer experience. The ideal GM will combine a passion for sports and high-end hospitality with strong business acumen, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations while driving long-term growth through customer success, loyalty, sponsorships, and other strategic partnerships across the local Denver market.
This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership, and proven ability to oversee customer and partner relations, along with back-office functions, including facility & contract management, vendor relations, and working with Volo’s Real Estate construction team for facility construction / maintenance. Finally, the General Manager will serve as the liaison between broader Denver City Operations, partnering with the City-level General Manager to optimize facility utilization and support revenue & profit growth across the Denver market more broadly.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Operational Leadership
- Provide day-to-day oversight of facility operations, ensuring excellence in both sports programming and hospitality services
- Partner with local City team (operations, sports managers, customer experience) and the national team to implement scheduling, staffing, and inventory systems as needed
- Develop and implement Club Volo brand, experience, and operational standards across customer services, facility maintenance, food & beverage (as applicable), and event management
- Foster a culture of exceptional customer service, creating memorable experiences for players, guests, and corporate partners & sponsors
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, legal, and licensing requirements
Financial & Revenue Management
- Own and manage the full facility P&L, driving profitability and long-term financial sustainability
- Lead revenue-generating initiatives including sports programming, tournaments, daily play, 3rd party events, loyalty / membership, sponsorships, and F&B operations (as applicable)
- Build pricing strategies, promotional plans, and partnership opportunities to maximize facility utilization and court / field capacity yield, especially at “off-peak” times
- Regularly analyze financial results, KPIs, and market trends to identify growth and cost optimization opportunities
- Optimize revenue per court and event space. Maximizing venue utilization through traditional sports and non-traditional events (such as birthdays, corporate events, local markets, etc.)
Sales, Site Activation, and Business Development / Partnerships
- Drive top-line revenue through tournaments (youth, adult and corporate), group and individual rental bookings, memberships, events, sponsorships and partnerships
- Cultivate strong relationships with local businesses, sponsors, vendors, and community partners to drive engagement, improve customer experience, and supplement revenue
- Build and execute a market-specific activation plan in conjunction with the marketing team to create buzz, build community, and maximize utilization
- Lead negotiations and oversee contracts with facility vendors, sponsors, event organizers, and service providers
- Actively seek out new business lines or enhancements to existing offerings to position the venue as a market leader
People & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team spanning operations, guest services, sales, and event staff
- Promote a positive, performance-driven culture that aligns with organizational values
- Implement training programs to elevate customer service standards and operational efficiency
Project & Construction Oversight
- Collaborate with Volo Real Estate development team, supporting capital improvement projects, renovations, and construction initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, design, and ongoing maintenance teams to ensure facilities meet both operational needs and guest expectations
- Work with internal finance, legal, and construction resources to oversee contract execution and vendor performance to safeguard venue standards and investment
What We're Looking For
- 8-10+ years in operations, hospitality, experiential marketing, sports/fitness, or entertainment venues, with at least 3 years in a senior P&L leadership role
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-use recreational facilities, sports complexes, or large-scale social spaces; knowledge in sports programming is a strong plus
- Customer-centric approach while combining an obsession in operational excellence, with an unwavering commitment to guest safety and wellbeing
- Prior responsibility in full P&L management and budget oversight, with budgets of $1M+
- Sales, partnership, and revenue optimization mindset, with a strong local network and understanding of customer demands in the local market
- Proven ability to launch and operate new business units or locations; Entrepreneurial DNA: scrappy, adaptable, and proactive
- Preference for Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sports Management, or a related field.
