Qualifications
- Certified Soccer official - Colorado Soccer Association or US Soccer
- Capable of officiating 7v7 or 11v11 soccer
- One (1) year of previous referee, playing, or coaching experience is preferred.
- Understands how the game is played including the principles, practice, and techniques used in recreational sporting events.
- Ability to handle participants, team managers and/or coaches under difficult game situations.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Possess a positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate clearly
- Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends
- Proficient customer service skills
- Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees, various community organizations, and the public.
- High School Diploma /GED Equivalency
Referee responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players
- Understand and kindly and fairly enforce each sport’s rules
- Communicate with the office regarding any equipment, rule issues, player issues, etc.
League Host and Referee responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Serve as a Volo representative at facilities and fields
- Set up & take down fields and /or soccer goals
- Update league scores in our host app
- Promote events and upcoming leagues via social media and on-field selling and help distribute marketing materials
- Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league
- Must be available at least 1 day per week from 5:30pm-10:30pm for at least eight weeks
- Other league-day preparations, such as field setup and supervision.
- Use host app to check in players as needed
- Execute fundraising activities to support kids programs
- Make players meet & feel welcome
