As a Senior Director of Events for RCX Sports you will oversee all event management operations for our officially licensed youth sports events across the country. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of event managers and coordinators, collaborating with the marketing team, and the field operations team to ensure that all events provide a premier experience for youth athletes and are aligned with the mission and values of RCX Sports.
 
What you’ll do:
  • Oversee all aspects of event management operations for RCX Sports events supporting all RCX Sports programs throughout the country and internationally
  • Run “A to Z” event operations including but not limited to: Event staffing, event shipping, travel coordination, event itineraries, preparing event material, communication, inventory, registration, event inbox management, managing event data, etc.
  • Manage a team of event directors, managers, and coordinators to plan and execute all event management needs for RCX Sports
  • Conceptualization of event integrations for partner events (i.e. NFL Pro Bowl, NBA All-Star, MLB World Series)
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and other internal stakeholders to ensure that all events are promoted effectively, are supported with the proper staff to run the event
  • Work closely with the field operations team to ensure that all events are executed flawlessly
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, vendors, and partners
  • Manage budgets and ensure that all events are delivered within budget
  • Ensure that all events are compliant with relevant regulations and guidelines
  • Manage partnerships for all large event series hotel contract negotiations
  • Directly manage the ATL warehouse manager working to ship, truck, and inventory all event materials for all event properties

What you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in event planning, marketing, sports management, or a related field 
  • At least 7 years of experience in event management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role (sports industry experience preferred)
  • Experience managing large-scale events with professional sports teams or leagues
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management, coaching, and performance management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading events
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to change
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
 
More about the role:
  • Travel: 65% of the time or more (requires significant travel including nights and weekends)
  • Work Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday with varying weekly schedules during busy event periods likely requiring frequent nights and weekends. 
  • Compensation Structure: Salaried, FLSA-Exempt (paid semi-monthly), this position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on employee and company performance
  • Location: Hybrid – Roswell, GA or Sylvan Lake, MI – This position will regularly work at least 3 days per week on-site at the RCX Sports office in Roswell, GA or Sylvan Lake, MI (candidate preference) and may occasionally work from home. 
  • Reports to: VP of Events
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will have multiple full-time direct reports
