Senior Backend Engineer

We are actively seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to bolster our technology team. This role demands a blend of development expertise and architectural acumen, with a strong focus on backend systems, database design, and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of building robust, efficient backend services using Python, React, Node.js, and similar technologies. As a key contributor, you will drive the development and optimization of our digital platforms, enhancing the sports experience for youth athletes and stakeholders.
What you'll do:
- Backend Development Expertise: Lead the design and implementation of backend services, focusing on scalability, performance, and security. Employ advanced programming skills in Python, Node.js, and other relevant technologies to develop high-quality code.
- System Architecture Innovation: Contribute to the architectural design of our digital platforms, including database schema design and the integration of backend services with front-end interfaces, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Database Design and Management: Spearhead the development of database architectures that support complex data storage, retrieval, and manipulation needs. Utilize knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases to optimize data storage and access patterns.
- Agile Collaboration and Leadership: Work within Agile development teams, providing mentorship and guidance. Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and frontend developers to ensure cohesive product development and deployment.
- Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes, enhancing development efficiency and product quality.
- Technology Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest backend technologies and frameworks, advocating for the adoption of innovative tools and practices that can enhance product development and user satisfaction.
- Enterprise System Integration: Lead the integration of backend systems with enterprise solutions such as Salesforce and Adobe Commerce, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality between our digital platforms and these critical business systems.
- API Development and Management: Design, develop, and manage APIs to facilitate efficient communication between our applications and external services, including extensive experience with RESTful services and third-party API integrations.
What you'll bring:
- Advanced Technical Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven Backend Development Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in backend development, with extensive use of Python, Node.js, and familiarity with React or similar frontend technologies.
- Architectural Design Acumen: Demonstrable experience in system architecture and database design, with a portfolio that includes scalable, high-availability applications.
- Proficiency in Database Technologies: Expertise in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, with a strong understanding of database design principles and performance optimization.
- Agile Methodology Mastery: Solid experience working in Agile development environments, with the ability to lead and mentor within a team setting.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the skill to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Integration Expertise: Demonstrated experience with integrating backend systems with enterprise solutions like Salesforce and Adobe Commerce, showcasing a deep understanding of the complexities involved in syncing with large-scale platforms.
- API Mastery: Extensive experience in API development, documentation, and management, with a strong portfolio of projects that include custom API solutions and integration with external services.

- Compensation Structure: Salaried (paid semi-monthly), FLSA-Exempt, eligible for annual discretionary bonus based on personal and company performance
