We are seeking an experienced and visionary Content Director specializing in photo, video and digital content to lead our marketing content team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual storytelling, along with a proven track record of developing and executing successful photo and video content strategies. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a deep understanding of digital marketing and social media trends.  

What you'll do:
  • Develop and Implement Visual Content Strategy: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive visual content strategy that aligns with the company's objectives, target audience, and brand identity.  
  • Storyboarding and Scriptwriting: Develop compelling storylines, scripts and outlines for video and audio content, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and objectives.  
  • Creative Direction: Provide creative direction and guidance to the content production team, ensuring that visual content effectively communicates brand messaging and engages the target audience.  
  • Content Planning and Calendar Management: Develop content plans while ensuring a consistent flow of visually compelling assets that support marketing and business goals. Provide on-time delivery of content that aligns with key timeframes.  
  • Content Optimization: Ensure that content meets quality standards and follows best practices for online publishing. Collaborate with content producer and digital marketing team to develop strategy for optimized assets that maximize visibility and traffic. i.e. animations, graphics, tutorials, explainer videos, infographics, etc.  
  • Distribution and Promotion: Develop distribution strategies to maximize the reach and impact of photo and video content across various channels, including social media platforms, websites, email newsletters, and third-party partnerships.  
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for photo and video content production, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximum return on investment.  
  • Team Leadership and Management: Work with content producer, social, website, email and creative teams, provide feedback and support to ensure the overall success of content for the company.  
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics for visual content initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders. Use data to drive content strategy and optimization efforts.  

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, media production or related field from an accredited university  
  • 3 or more years of experience in developing and implementing photo, video, and digital content strategy (sports industry experience preferred) 
  • Proven experience leading and inspiring a team of creators including content producers, photographers, and videographers 
  • Demonstrated ability to create high quality and engaging photo, video, and digital content within the sports industry 
  • Ability to lead with a forward-thinking mindset on how the department can enhance its content strategy, brand presence, and alignment with business objectives 
  • Knowledge of and experience using various social media platforms and how to optimize their use 
  • Familiarity or prior experience with Asana (preferred) 
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and ability to build authentic, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners 
  • Initiative-taking and driven professional mindset with a passion for the enhancement of youth sports across the country. 

More about the role:
  • Travel Expectations: 25% of the time or more 
  • Department: Marketing 
  • Reports to: Vice President of Marketing 
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will oversee full time direct reports 
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours/week Monday-Friday 
  • Compensation Structure: Salaried (paid semi-monthly), FLSA-Exempt, eligible for annual discretionary bonus based on personal and company performance 
  • Location: Hybrid – Roswell, GA or Sylvan Lake, MI – This position will regularly work at least 3 days per week on-site at the RCX Sports office in Roswell, GA or Sylvan Lake, MI (candidate preference) and may occasionally work from home.
