Position Summary:    

 
As the Senior Salesforce Architect, you will take ownership of our Salesforce platform, ensuring its technical excellence, integrity, security, and performance. This role is pivotal in providing hands-on guidance, leveraging industry expertise, deep Salesforce knowledge, and technical acumen to drive key organizational initiatives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams spanning sales, marketing, operations, product, and technology leadership, you will spearhead the delivery of end-to-end digital customer experiences. Your primary focus will be designing, implementing, and maintaining Salesforce solutions tailored to our business needs. 

 
This role presents a foundational opportunity to shape and elevate our Salesforce discipline. You will provide strategic direction and technical oversight to external implementation partners, including Salesforce itself. The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, especially Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. The ideal candidate will have an affinity for software development methodology, effective data management and process. Equally important are the communication and collaboration skills required to align technical, operational and leadership stakeholders with plans, initiatives and new ways of working.  

 

Reporting to the Vice President, Technology Operations and partnering closely with Engineering leaders, you will drive the evolution of our business and technical capabilities across the customer experience landscape. Your efforts will establish a resilient, scalable technical roadmap aligned with our ambitious business growth objectives. This high-profile position offers unparalleled visibility across the organization and the opportunity to deliver significant business impact. 
  

Position Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead Architectural Direction: Provide overarching leadership in architecture and system design throughout the Salesforce implementation lifecycle. 

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary Salesforce platform expert for stakeholders across business, operations, product, and technical domains. 

  • Discovery and Solution Design: Lead discovery efforts, gather user input, design solutions, and set clear expectations for deliverables. 

  • Requirement Translation: Translate business needs into comprehensive technical requirements for platform configuration and integration. 

  • Solution Matching: Align business requirements with Salesforce capabilities, determining optimal architecture and implementation strategies. 

  • Feature Development Oversight: Oversee the design, configuration, development, and deployment of Salesforce features to meet business needs. 

  • Implementation Coordination: Ensure internal and external teams deliver on requirements through effective project coordination. 

  • Integration Facilitation: Design and implement integrations between Salesforce, internal systems, and third-party applications, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security. 

  • Support and Enhancement: Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing Salesforce implementations, including data model optimization, integration management, and security. 

  • Salesforce Administration Support: Collaborate with Sales Operations to enhance Salesforce administration practices and documentation for improved coordination with development teams. 

  • Security Implementation: Implement robust security measures within Salesforce to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance. 

  • Architecture Documentation: Develop and maintain Salesforce architecture diagrams, ensuring alignment with other platform components and current/future state requirements. 

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for workflow optimization, system enhancement, and automation to improve overall Salesforce efficiency, performance, and user experience. 
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experience. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of overall technical solutions architecture experience in CRM or Marketing Tech, with at least 5 years in a leadership position focusing on Salesforce architecture. 

  • Salesforce Proficiency: Deep understanding of the Salesforce platform, including its capabilities, data model, security model, and integration options. Proven track record of successfully architecting and/or re-architecting integrated solutions on Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. 

  • Development Lifecycle Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading the entire development lifecycle of solutions from inception to deployment and maintenance at an enterprise scale. 

  • Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge of Salesforce Integration Architecture, Data Architecture, and Management. Proficiency with Apex, SOQL, Triggers, Custom Objects, Lightning Flows, Lightning, and LWC (Lightning Web Components). 

  • Continuous Learning: Ability to stay abreast of and leverage capabilities in the latest Salesforce releases, features, and functionalities, as well as the broader Salesforce ecosystem. 

  • Integrations: Extensive familiarity with third-party and Open Sourcetools (e.g.Mulesoft, Airflow). 

  • B2C Commerce Knowledge: Expertise in B2C commerce practices, including customer journeys, to map out and enhance customer experiences using Salesforce technologies. 

  

Certifications: 

  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Certified System Architect required  

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator required 

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect preferred 

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or II (II preferred) 

 

Nice to Have Certifications 

  • Salesforce B2C Solution Architect  

  • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer
