Food Runner will be responsible for preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and wait staff.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure customers are receiving the correct order from the kitchen
- Double check the order before it goes to a customer
- Organize food tickets
- Double check with tables to ensure everything is correct and delicious
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
- Stock expo line with dressings, sauces, desserts, silverware, to-go boxes, etc.
- Finish plates as needed
- Plate desserts aesthetically
- Check in with customers to ensure their experience is satisfactory
- Relay reports of customer satisfaction to the management and relevant parties
- Ensure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food
- Clean off a tables as needed Deliver room service orders
- Answer any questions from customers about the menu & basic hotel/area info
- Refill customer drinks as needed
- Assist servers & cooks with other tasks as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- 1+ years of restaurant experience preferred
- Strong passion and knowledge for culinary excellence and guest service
- Great customer service attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Highly organized & detail oriented
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced organization
- A superior work ethic
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Polite & professional verbal communication skills
- Able to work calmly in high stress situations
Preferred Skills
- High-volume, fast-paced restaurant experience is a plus
- Bilingual
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.
- Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, stairs, etc.
- This role is considered essential and may be required to work during weather emergencies or business closures in order to meet operational requirements
