The Bus Driver plays a vital role in delivering safe, dependable, and timely transportation for student-athletes, visitors, staff, and parents. This position emphasizes safety, professionalism, and exceptional guest service, ensuring every passenger has a positive and secure travel experience.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for safely operating and maintaining school bus and transportation vehicles while delivering outstanding guest service
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and accurately complete trip reports as required
  Engage regularly with students, guests, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
• Serve as a positive role model, promoting a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment
• Follow established policies related to student discipline, vehicle safety, and emergency procedures
• Maintain compliance with all applicable State and Federal DOT regulations
• Complete required documentation, including Vehicle Inspection Reports and driver logs, with accuracy and timeliness
• Operate communication and navigation equipment such as cell phones, two-way radios, and GPS devices effectively
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, including routine interior and exterior cleaning and vacuuming
• Demonstrate flexibility in operating various vehicles, including vans, trams, and buses, as needed
• Report and document any incidents, concerns, or irregularities during transportation
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Ability to safely operate a range of vehicles, including vans, trams, and buses
• Ability to read and interpret road signs and safety information in English
• Strong understanding of and compliance with State and Federal DOT regulations
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Ability to build and maintain professional, positive relationships with students, parents, guests, and colleagues
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team success
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Previous experience in commercial, school bus, or shuttle driving preferred

Required

• Valid CDL driver’s license with passenger endorsement
• Driving record that meets company standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes weighing over 40 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
• Ability to move throughout campus environments, including gyms, turf, and fields
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
