The Grounds, Tennis will be responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of 59 tennis courts and the surrounding areas. IMG Academy is one of the best athletic training environments in the world. Professional quality facilities and immaculately maintained grounds are the standard on campus.
Position Responsibilities:
- Prepares tennis courts for daily use
- Maintains various tennis specific surfaces – hard/standard clay/red clay
- Performs any combination of the following: windscreen hanging and rolling, clearing courts of debris, picking trash and emptying trash receptacles, blowing or vacuuming sidewalks, pressure washing, trimming and cleaning landscape beds, etc.
- Adds material and rolls clay courts as needed
- Drags clay courts by hand and with pull-behind equipment
- Clears lines after dragging
- Irrigates courts with timers and manual valve controls
- Maintains, adjusts, and repairs irrigation equipment - sprinkler heads/pipe/fittings/valves/etc.
- Keeps related tools and spaces clean and organized
- Incorporates safe work practices in job related activities
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Tennis Grounds Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- Experience using lawn mowers or other landscaping equipment
- Demonstrated experience with landscaping
- Ability to perform routine maintenance repairs
Preferred Skills:
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift, carry, move, push and pull equipment or boxes up to 75lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, courts, etc. in all weather
- Ability to bend, push, pull and twist throughout regular work duties
- Ability to work on mechanical equipment throughout regular work duties
- Ability to work with chemicals including herbicides, insecticides and fertilizers
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
