Job Summary
A Business Development Representative (BDR) is a sales professional responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities for a company by researching potential clients, qualifying leads, establishing relationships with prospective customers, and working with the sales team to expand the client base and achieve revenue targets; essentially acting as the first point of contact for potential customers through outbound prospecting methods like cold calling and email outreach.
Business Development Representatives work to generate new opportunities for our business. The BDR role can assist sales by finding contacts and proactively coordinating outbound outreach. Main duties include designing plans that targets new client acquisition, developing and cultivating relationships with prospective clients, and securing meetings for our sales teams. Effectively communicating internally with our sales department is a key facet.
Responsibilities
- Contacting leads through multiple channels (phone, email, social media, etc.) to generate initial interest that provokes subsequent meetings.
- Are competitive with the ability to meet and exceed outbound activities (calls, emails, social media activity) to attract the right
- Like to research, qualify and prioritize leads and opportunities (setup qualified meetings for sales team).
- Are able to align outbound sales campaigns to account-based marketing initiatives and update your activities on CRM.
Key responsibilities of a Business Development Representative:
Lead generation:
- Actively search for and identify potential clients through market research, networking, and online
platforms.
Qualifying leads:
- Contact prospective clients to assess their needs and determine if they are qualified sales opportunities.
Cold calling and emailing:
- Initiate contact with potential customers through cold calls and emails to introduce the company's products or services.
Relationship building:
- Develop rapport with potential clients by understanding their needs and providing valuable information.
Scheduling appointments:
- Set up meetings between qualified leads and the sales
CRM management:
- Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and progress within the company's CRM system.
Product knowledge:
- Gain in-depth understanding of the company's offerings to effectively answer customer questions.
Sales pipeline management:
- Contribute to the overall sales pipeline by consistently generating qualified
Collaboration with sales team:
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads and support the sales process.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related
- Passionate about Sports, Data Analytics, and/or Business.
- One year of lead generation
- Goal-oriented and assertive
- Self-Motivated
- Razor-sharp verbal and quantitative
- Independent worker that is able to take initiative and recognize the potential for process improvement.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize with autonomy to support business objectives in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
