Contract Overview
Sportable is seeking experienced freelance Graphics Operators to support live UFL broadcasts during the 2026 season. This is an event-based contract role working remotely in Los Angeles & on-site at UFL venues in a live production environment.
The role focuses on integrating, monitoring, and supporting Sportable’s real-time data and graphics systems within the broadcast workflow. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, comfortable operating independently, and experienced in live sports production.
Scope of Work
Pre-Event Setup
Connect and verify network communications between data systems, graphics engines, and production systems.
Confirm reliable connection to live data feeds and video sources.
Perform system validation, testing, and quality checks prior to rehearsals and game time.
Coordinate with on-site engineering and production teams to ensure readiness.
Live Game Responsibilities
Monitor Sportable graphics systems and data feeds throughout rehearsals and live broadcasts.
Ensure accuracy, stability, and timeliness of data-driven graphics elements.
Communicate clearly with production staff regarding system status.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, or network issues in real time.
Post-Event
Properly power down and secure equipment.
Provide brief operational feedback or incident notes if issues occur.
Assist with strike and equipment pack-down as required.
Required Experience
Prior experience in a live sports control room or remote broadcast environment.
Familiarity with live graphics systems and real-time data workflows.
Working knowledge of basic networking (IP configuration, signal flow, troubleshooting).
Strong computer literacy and ability to quickly navigate production software.
Ability to operate calmly and decisively in high-pressure live environments.
Clear and professional communication skills.
Preferred Background
Broadcast engineer or graphics operator experience.
Experience supporting sports tracking or data-driven graphics systems.
Familiarity with remote production models.
Understanding of American football broadcast workflows.
Employment Details
Event-based contract in March-June (game days, rehearsals, preseason testing).
Remotely in Los Angeles & on-site at UFL venues.
Evening and weekend availability required.
Travel may be required depending on the assignment.
Competitive hourly rates based on experience.
