At PrizePicks, design is central to delivering clear, consistent, and memorable player experiences. As Design Director, you will define the vision, establish systems, and cultivate a culture that seamlessly integrates brand and product. You will lead a skilled team to achieve end-to-end consistency in our product experience, champion excellence, and help create a product that captivates and delights millions of players daily.

What you’ll do:

Design Systems & Experience Consistency

  • Oversee the design system and product libraries to ensure they are maintained, adopted, and scaled across all design and development teams.
  • Extend design system governance to ensure accessibility, localization, and modularity for greater reach (platforms) and audience appeal.
  • Drive consistency and efficiency across the product ecosystem by ensuring a unified and predictable user experience at every touchpoint.
  • Establish a partnership with brand and product teams to ensure the product experience consistently reflects our brand identity, values, and positioning.

Experience Strategy & Core Journeys

  • Define, map, and optimize core user journeys to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver seamless, engaging experiences.
  • Translate brand principles into purposeful product interactions that strengthen audience engagement across marketing and product channels.

Design Operations & Documentation

  • Establish and manage documentation tools, processes, and repositories to ensure design guidelines, decisions, and assets are accessible and actionable for all stakeholders.
  • Partner with fellow design peers and analytics teams to define design KPIs, measure impact, and use data-driven insights to inform strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Continually improve end-to-end workflows, better integrating design, insights, product, and engineering.

Innovation, Automation, and  AI Integration

  • Lead the adoption of AI tools and methods to enhance design workflows and find efficiencies in our process
  • Identify and implement design automation opportunities to optimize production workflows, from UI & content design through localization and multi-market rollout.
  • Continuously research emerging AI technologies and pinpoint applications that enhance product differentiation and elevate the user experience.
  • Experiment with predictive personalization models and proactive messaging to anticipate player needs and behaviors.

Leadership & Culture

  • As part of design leadership, foster a culture of design excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Set and uphold high standards for quality, craft, and innovation in all design deliverables.
  • Build influence with key stakeholders and cross-functional peers and leaders, establishing the value of design as a strategic business driver.
  • Mentor and guide designers across disciplines, promoting professional growth and collaboration.

What you have:

  • 10+ years of experience in the field of UX Design, product design, and art design with 5+ years in a leadership role. 
  • Extensive experience in the digital consumer space, preferably in e-commerce, gaming, finance or travel & hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in partnering with product and engineering teams to create game-changing products
  • A portfolio reflecting craft, detail, process and outcomes.
  • Strong storyteller and strategic thinker—able to simplify the complex, connect brand to product, and turn insights into action
  • Strong analytical mindset and experience working with quantitative and qualitative data. 
  • An understanding of sports fans, fan behavior, and seasonal attention cycles
  • Confident cross-functional leader who thrives in matrixed, fast-paced environments
  • Sharp creative instincts and experience working closely with UX Research and  in-house or agency creative teams
