This position reports to the VP of Operations.
We are seeking an organized, hands-on Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee daily shipping, receiving, packaging, and inventory operations for our scoreboard and video display products. This role is responsible for the shipping and receiving department as a whole — verifying shipment documents, determining shipping priorities and schedules, developing procedures, determining storage space requirements, and supervising loading and unloading operations. The Supervisor is critical of ensuring accurate, on-time shipments, smooth production flow, and strong inventory control across the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping, Receiving & Documentation
- Supervise and manage incoming and outgoing shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of shipments
- Create and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading and carrier paperwork
- Determine work procedures, schedules, assignments, priorities, and methods needed to meet shipping and receiving deadlines
- Run and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for outbound orders
- Order parts and components from our Greenville facility to support production and fulfillment
- Build and manage quick job kits to keep production moving efficiently
- Supervise loading and unloading operations and determine storage space requirements
Production & Inventory
- Monitor daily production activity to ensure schedules and priorities are met
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, verification, and reconciliation of shipment receipts, material, and product transfers
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in stock levels, part shortages, or kitting errors
Logistics & Continuous Improvement
- Review transit lanes and carrier performance to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities
- Coordinate customer returns and manage the return-to-stock or disposition process
- Process and manage damage claims with carriers, tracking resolution to completion
- Recommend and implement process improvements across shipping and warehouse workflows
Customer Service & Communication
- Investigate and resolve customer problems and issues; notify appropriate staff of potential quality issues
- Communicate with other departments (production, customer service, purchasing) to keep orders on track
Team Leadership & Safety
- Supervise warehouse staff, providing direction, training, and daily task assignments
- Organize, clean, and maintain shipping and storage areas to ensure safety, compliance, product integrity, and efficiency
- Ensure safety standards and warehouse procedures are consistently followed
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in logistics/warehouse management, preferably in high-volume manufacturing or distribution
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direction to individual contributors/labor; supervisory experience preferred
- Familiarity with shipping documentation, freight carriers, and BOM/kitting processes
- Software aptitude with an emphasis on MS Office products, especially Excel; Syteline experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Comfort working with inventory management systems
- Excellent customer service skills and a clear communicator who can lead a team and coordinate across departments
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements
- Experience handling damage claims or freight disputes is a plus
