Nevco Sports LLC, the world's leading supplier of integrated display and scoring systems, is looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to fill an immediate need in Greenville, IL.  The Senior Mechanical Engineer researches, plans and designs mechanical products and systems. This person directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical and electrical products and systems.
Responsibilities
  • Designs cabinet structures for housing electronic components and assemblies
  • Designs large displays with emphasis on serviceability, manufacturability, and quality
  • Performs calculations to meet applicable building codes and for site specific installation
  • Uses theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure the integrity of mechanical designs
  • Performs calculations to ensure structural integrity of custom scoreboard installations
  • Uses geometric tolerance stacks to verify design for manufacturing
  • Document designs with drawings, Bills of Material, and change management system
  • Works with manufacturing personnel on pilot builds of new products to ensure a sound manufacturing process
  • Create optimized CNC punch press programs to minimize machine run time and increase product throughput
  • Use layout software to create configuration files for multiple video sizes, orientations, color settings, etc.
  • Provide support and testing for all departments as required to maintain quality of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Develop processes and implement plans to improve productivity and reduce waste
  • Mentor junior level mechanical engineer
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
·        Strong background in sheet metal design and CAD experience
·         Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault
·         Ability to perform stress/load calculations in large cabinet assembly and installation
·         Experience with office equipment, including computer and standard office software (MS Office), documentation control software, Bills of Material management, etc.
·         Experience programming CNC and turret punch presses is preferred
·         Sports industry knowledge/interest is preferred
