The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) is seeking an experienced Director of Client Strategy to help drive digital and partnership revenue across the company. This position will play a central role in the generation of revenue utilizing storytelling, data, local and national marketing strategies to develop customized solutions for our clients. This role will report to the GM Brand Partnerships and Innovations  and will develop, execute and successful online initiatives for our clients from start to finish. Serving as a key point-of-contact for our clients and internal teams, the Director of Client Strategy will ensure that the clients’ digital programs are sophisticated, successful, and fully integrated. 

This position will work closely with the Partnerships, Broadcast, and Digital sales teams, Account Management, and Programmatic teams to drive revenue. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success working collaboratively to drive revenue. They must have a clear understanding of the digital ad ecosystem inclusive of both local and national ad agencies and clients. They must be a highly effective communicator (orally and written), be able to successfully manage multiple priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Develop strategic plans to develop and grow company's digital and partnerships sales
  • Lead the Client Strategy team by developing proposal templates, marketing strategies, digital and social planning guidelines for the team to adhere to
  • Assist Sales in achieving sales targets and goals
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and stakeholders
  • Communicate the value proposition of CHSN through proposals and presentations
  • Understand the market trends, competitive landscape and customer needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized client solutions
  • Serve as a key point-of-contact for clients to develop, manage and execute their digital marketing programs
  • Work directly with CHSN internal teams to coordinate program execution and ensure the highest level of service is provided to all clients
  • Write online advertising plans, including online and social media planning, and optimization of the plans
  • Interface with the Director of Data, Reporting & Insights to deliver on-time reports and insights
  • Actively participate in meetings, both client-facing and internal, and produce follow-up documentation
  • Write and produce client-facing proposals and memoranda, presentations, strategic plans and other materials, both independently and in collaboration with other team members
  • Continuously learn about new technologies and trends in the field; identify innovative solutions
  • Effectively problem-solve and manage both client and internal customer needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to hit and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to track and measure performance against these metrics.
  • Effectively communicate CHSN's unique positioning and insights to internal and external clients through presentations, reports, and visualizations.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization, promoting the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Promote and sustain a positive work environment

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:  
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience; 4 years of experience in digital client strategy with a minimum of 2 years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven strategic thinking and success in digital marketing campaigns
  • Hands-on experience managing digital projects (i.e. email or social media campaigns, SMS, online advertising, website development, etc.)
  • Experience and success in managing customer relationships, expectations and deliverables
  • Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Accountable for starting tasks with limited direction while functioning in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented and self-starter a must
  • Proven track record of achieving goals
  • Proven experience with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong business acumen and high integrity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) will launch in October across multiple platforms. The network will air more than 300 live Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox games annually and include pre- and postgame coverage while showing multisport programming 24 hours a day. CHSN will broadcast from studios located in both Chicago's United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field. The network will start airing Blackhawks and Bulls preseason games in October, showing White Sox games beginning in 2025.
