WHAT YOU’LL DO
This role requires wearing many hats. Everyone says that, but we really mean it. You will step way outside what a “traditional” PM would do.

You will need to identify problems without being asked, and be obsessive about fixing them. Those problems could be product ideas, but they could also be other things - a process improvement, a relationship we could build, a piece of content, growth channel or other marketing ideas, a prototype you can build yourself… anything… you’ll go do it and not wait to be asked.

Internal stakeholder manager: you’ll do more than just ask your colleagues for “approval” and field inbound requests from other teams - you’ll be proactive, build relationships, and get people who have 500 other things to do to reply on tight timelines. This is especially important because 50% of what we build are internal tools. It’s your job to get people internally excited.

You’ll be a traditional “get stuff done” project manager: you will update key teammates on the following: What are we working on? Whats next? What are the timelines? Are we hitting those? When do we need to start X to hit Y date? You’ll post weekly updates to the team, follow up with people, and you’ll invent whatever process is needed to get stuff done quickly.

You will lead “exploration” of new ideas: specifically you will take undefined opportunity areas and ideas and get them down to a clear product spec that drives our team goal. Things will be vague but you will make them specific. You’ll take feedback and direction and even “stream of consciousness” type thinking from leaders at the company and you’ll turn their thinking into actionable plans.

You will talk to users, understand their needs even better than them, and translate them into a clear path for what we are building next. You wont just build the most obvious simple answer you will get to the heart of what people are trying to accomplish or feel and translate that into a masterpiece that people come back asking for more of.

You will own growth, distribution and go to market for your own products. You will think about content and even make some yourself - whatever it takes to get what your team built into the right hands.

WHO YOU ARE:
  • Built something with over 100k users from scratch and can tell me about how you did it and why
  • Organized, articulate, proactive, and ruthless in your communication - you track people down and make sure they know what is going on at all times no matter what
  • You have insanely good product sense: You know how to make people DEEPLY WANT and care about a product… you don't just build the most boring obvious version and assume anyone cares. You make them care.
  • You have invented processes for a team that made things 10x faster than they were before
  • You have strong opinions on what we should do and why
  • You are willing to do basic entry level work often
  • Obsessive and maniacal about fixing problems or creating specialness
  • Capable of rapport building with c suite level execs
  • Capable of speaking publicly and posting in large company wide threads
  • You’re amazing at managing up. Your manager always knows what is happening, and never has to ask.
  • Willing to handle any task even if it’s manual content updates on the backend of a website
  • Undertand content, and culture
  • Understand AI and/or willing to learn everything about it. Will keep up with the space
