BACKGROUND, AUSTIN BOLD FC

Founded in 2018, Austin Bold FC is an American professional soccer team based in the capital of Texas. Austin Bold FC will compete in USL Championship, one of the most successful professional soccer leagues in the world, reaching a population of more than 84 million and fueling the growth of the game across North America. Sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation as a Division II professional league, The Championship includes a membership of more than 30 clubs across the United States and Canada.

Led by head coach Marcelo Serrano, the club’s inaugural season kicked off in March 2019. Home matches are played in a new 5,000-seat Bold Stadium, located at Circuit of The Americas, the premier destination for entertainment and sports in the United States. Austin Bold FC is devoted to being an active partner in the community and growing soccer in Central Texas and forming bonds with youth leagues and soccer supporters throughout the region. Austin Bold FC will play an exciting, up-tempo style of soccer, delivering a matchday atmosphere as dynamic as the city of Austin itself.

Austin Bold FC employees receive access to an onsite gym with showers. There is an onsite restaurant for lunch that offers employee discounts, as well as a ping-pong table, shuffleboard, popcorn machine and ice cream machine.

Internship Expectations

The Strength and Conditioning intern should be available for at least 20 hours per week to assist in daily duties including but not limited to: daily practices and warm-ups, gym sessions, GPS data collection and monitoring, individual program implementation, administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned
Minimum a senior in college working toward an exercise science/kinesiology, or similar degree, or has graduated and looking for experience in the professional sport setting
Experience in playing soccer or training soccer athletes is a plus
Experience using GPS monitoring systems is a plus, but not required
