The Charlotte Independence is looking for a Graphic Design/Photography Intern to support the Director of Communications and Director of Marketing & Branding in the design, presentation, and production of print, digital, and display graphics. This individual will design, implement, and assist in the management of creative services for the Club to utilize while staying within brand guidelines. The ideal applicant will be a self-starter, curious about pushing their craft, and be ready to take on new challenges.
The position is available immediately and may be conducted remotely, though in-person is preferred. This is an unpaid internship that can provide school credit, though from time-to-time there could be opportunities for compensation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Help create and design flyers, posters, banners, and other collateral to support the Ticketing, Sponsorship, Operations, and Marketing and Communications departments.
Assist with the creation of digital graphics for use on social media outlets, broadcasts, website, and more.
Assist in content capture including interviews, video shoots, photography sessions, and event documentation.
Shoot action photos of training sessions, games, and other events as needed. Edit photos in Photoshop, Lightroom, and other editing softwares.
Assist with Club Media Day including lighting, behind the scenes content, and organization.
Participate in weekly meetings and brainstorming sessions for creative and engaging content for the fulfillment of Club goals.
Provide input for, and assistance with, overall look and feel of brand including interactive and environmental design.
Strong knowledge and abilities in Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and AfterEffects.
Photography and/or videography experience is preferred.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment and in media work zones.
Some experience in photography techniques, including lighting and camera positioning among others is preferred.
Experience in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Understanding of the Charlotte Independence and the soccer landscape
Strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit.
Available 20-25 hours per week, including nights, weekends and game days.
Accessible portfolio of work submitted with application.
Reliable mode of transportation.
Must have own computer.
