Rhode Island FC: Digital Strategy Internship (Spring 2026)

Job Overview 
Rhode Island FC, a professional soccer club competing in the USL Championship, is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented college interns for the Spring 2026 season. This comprehensive internship program provides invaluable hands-on experience in the Marketing Department. Interns will gain direct exposure to the diverse functions that drive a professional sports organization, contributing to both day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. 

This position is for a seasonal internship, with a projected start date that can be flexible to align with academic calendars. 

Educational Experience 
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program and eligible to receive college credit.  
  • This internship is for college credit only and is limited to no more than 28 hours per week. 

Qualifications 
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and on-brand marketing copy.
  • Basic understanding of email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar) and interest in learning segmentation and audience-building tools.
  • Comfort working with data, including the ability to interpret trends, organize information, and draw meaningful insights.
  • Ability to analyze survey results or large data sets to help develop audience personas and targeting strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when updating digital content.
  • Interest in digital marketing, sports marketing, or content strategy.
  • Willingness to collaborate, ask questions, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, game days, and events as needed is required.  

Note: This position is an on-site internship requiring candidates to commute to the Rhode Island Office and Centreville Bank Stadium as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

Digital Marketing: 
  • Support email marketing operations by drafting clear, engaging email copy and building segmented audience lists for targeted campaigns.
  • Use data-driven insights to help shape email targeting strategies, including identifying trends, behaviors, and high-value audience groups.
  • Assist with website updates and maintenance, ensuring pages are current, accurate, and visually aligned with brand design standards.
  • Collaborate on website design improvements, optimizing layout, readability, and user experience across key pages.
  • Analyze data sets, fan insights, and survey results to identify audience behaviors, preferences, and patterns.
  • Help develop target personas based on demographic, behavioral, and engagement data to inform paid advertising and marketing strategy.
  • Work closely with the Digital Media Coordinator to execute digital campaigns, track performance, and support daily marketing operations.
 
Physical Requirements 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stretch for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours on event days).  
  • Comfortable working in moderate to loud environments.  
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs.)
