Position Summary
Monterey Bay FC is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Sponsorship Sales Manager to generate new corporate partnership revenue and grow long-term brand alliances. This individual will be responsible for prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing integrated sponsorship packages that align with partners’ marketing objectives while enhancing the fan experience and supporting club revenue goals.
This is a high-impact sales role ideal for a motivated professional with a passion for sports, community engagement, and strategic business development.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Prospect, qualify, and close new corporate sponsorships across local, regional, and national brands
- Develop customized partnership proposals including signage, digital assets, matchday activations, hospitality, naming rights, and community programs
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned sponsorship accounts
- Ensure fulfillment of contractual benefits in collaboration with marketing and operations teams
- Identify upsell and renewal opportunities
- Deliver regular ROI reports and partnership recaps
Game Day & Activation
- Support sponsor activations at home matches and club events
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of sponsorship elements
- Represent the club at community and networking events
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the overall corporate partnerships strategy
- Research industry trends and competitive landscape within the USL Championship and broader sports market
- Assist in pricing strategy, inventory management, and asset valuation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or related field
- 2–5+ years of sales experience (sports sponsorship sales preferred)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and matchdays
