Position Summary
The Sponsorship Marketing & Activation lead is responsible for developing, managing, and executing all corporate partnership activations for Monterey Bay FC. This role ensures sponsors receive exceptional value through creative, community-driven, and soccer-centric activations that enhance the matchday experience, strengthen local partnerships, and support the club’s commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sponsorship Activation & Fulfillment
- Plan and execute all sponsor activations across matchday, digital, social, community, and experiential platforms
- Own sponsor fulfillment, including signage, LED boards, PA reads, promotions, giveaways, and on-site executions
- Ensure all partnership assets are delivered accurately and on time, in alignment with contract terms
Matchday & Experiential Marketing
- Lead matchday sponsorship activations at Cardinale Stadium, including fan zones, concourse activations, on-field elements, and premium hospitality
- Coordinate with stadium operations, marketing, and game presentation teams to execute seamless sponsor integrations
- Support special events, theme nights, community appearances, and club-hosted activations
Partner Relationship Management
- Serve as the day-to-day marketing and activation contact for corporate partners
- Build strong relationships with local, regional, and national sponsors
- Develop activation plans, creative concepts, and post-activation recap reports for partners
Strategy, Measurement & Reporting
- Collaborate with the club’s partnership sales team to support renewals and upsell opportunities
- Track activation performance, fan engagement, and sponsor value
- Prepare sponsorship recaps, insights, and recommendations to support partner retention
Collaboration & Operations
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, content, community, ticketing, and operations teams
- Manage activation budgets, timelines, vendors, and promotional inventory
- Maintain activation calendars, checklists, and best practices
Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years' Experience in sponsorship marketing, business, communications, sports management, or related field
- Strong understanding of soccer culture, supporter groups, and live event environments
- Experience executing matchday and experiential activations
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and matchdays
Preferred Experience
- Experience with a professional sports team or live event organization
- Familiarity with USL Championship or soccer-specific operations
- Experience working with local and regional brand partners
