Facility Operations/Event Staff: Game Day/Event Staff
USL Spokane (Spokane Zephyr FC & Spokane Velocity FC) is looking for multiple FOR CREDIT ONLY interns in the 2024 Season (unpaid). Candidates must be current college students and must be able to dedicate 10-20 hours per week to the internship, with flexible scheduling around your academic commitments.  At USL Spokane, we know the importance and impact an internship can have academically and in future career opportunities.  Within our organization, there are multiple fields and areas in which students can gain real work experience to grow their understanding of their field of study.  
 
Strong verbal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential skills for this position. The successful candidate should be dependable, have reliable transportation, be able to handle multiple tasks and work long hours (evenings, weekends & holidays included). Gameday interns will experience sports through multiple departments of the USL Spokane organization. 
 
Within our internship program, we will work with you to structure your duties to meet your school requirements and interests.  Like all staff at USL Spokane, you will be asked to support cross-functionally and in many different fields across the club.  
 
All interns must complete a background check and sign a Confidentiality agreement for USL Spokane properties.  
  
Game Day Commitments Windows: Gameday interns will commit to a 3-month window for gamedays. Gameday interns may commit to multiple windows. Please check all that apply in the application questionnaire.   
  • Summer: May/June-August
  • Fall: August/September-November
  • Any Absence from a gameday must be pre-excused upon commitment to the internship. 

Game Operations & Office:
  • Interns must attend every Spokane Zephyr FC & Spokane Velocity FC home game within their commitment window + additional pre-game meeting office hours (unless pre-approved absence).
  • Interns should be motivated to represent the USL Spokane brand.
  • Interns will attend pre-game prep meetings & have limited office hours.
  • Interns will gain experience across multiple fields.
    • Operations 
    • Marketing/Communications 
    • Technical 
    • Ticketing 
    • Partnership & Fulfillment 
    • Merchandise & Sales 
  • Interns may have additional opportunities to assist in USL Spokane community events. 
  • Interns may fulfill duties including, but not limited to, gameday setup & teardown, club ambassador, field prep, game themes, general operations, hospitality representatives, stat tracking, fulfillment tracking, digital marketing, and more. 
*Specialty Positions:
USL Spokane is also seeking game day interns for specialty positions, including:
  • Photographers:
    • Shoot action during home matches for marketing/news purposes
  • Videographers:
    • Shoot action during home matches for marketing/news purposes
  • News & Content Writer:
    • Prepare pre-match materials such as game notes for media and broadcast partners, watch home (in stadium) and away matches (streaming) and submit post-match story
  • Facts/Stats coordinators:
    • Watch matches and keep relevant stats and facts
  • Fan Engagement and Promotions 
  • Social Media Specialist
  • Media Relations 
  • Stat Keeper 

Desired Qualifications:
  • Pursuit of Sport Management, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, photography, and/or business degree required.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of projects.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
