Position Summary 
Aequus Sports is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Retail Operations Lead to be the frontline ambassador of our brand. This role is pivotal in maximizing revenue, enhancing fan experience, and building the Aequus Sports identity through a variety of merchandise channels. The ideal candidate is a sales-natural, trend-spotter, and customer service champion. 
 
Key or Essential Functions 
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the duties listed below.  The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following: 
 
Game Day  
  • Lead all game day preparations including identifying merchandise for ONE Spokane Stadium merch tent and transporting and tracking merchandise to the stadium.  
  • Coordinate staffing for game day sales needs, schedule all staff and interns for shifts, and serves as the main point of contact for all merchandise questions on game day.  
  • Oversee set up of the stadium Merch Tent, including display racks and organizing merchandise for easy identification.   
  • Track all comped merchandise taken by ownership or management during game days.  
  • Oversees tear down, clean up, and transportation of merchandise back to the Davenport after game day.  
 
Ordering and Inventory 
  • Conducts inventory management, identifies low inventory, and completes ordering upon approval from management. 
  • Complete reorganization and structuring of Shopify.  This will include reclassifying merchandise, identifying tools for increased efficiency, and training others on Shopify changes as needed.     
  • Identify trends in sales, including top sellers and product that isn’t moving, and present data and ideas to management on increased ordering or promotional opportunities to push low selling merch.   
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing department to grow customer base, promote product and sales, and drive customers to all three retail outlets.   
  • Responsible for receiving, tracking, distributing, and accounting for all inventory (including physical count) in all retail outlets using the P.O.S. system.  
 
Davenport Retail Store 
  • Provide direct customer service by working shifts in team store selling and promoting merchandise.   
  • In charge of scheduling and staffing of retail store including communicating with current retail store staff and serving as main point of contact for scheduling and retail related questions.   
  • Restock retail floor and ensure proper display of products.   
 
This position must be able to work flexible hours which may include extended days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications 
A combination or accumulation of applicable work-related experience and/or education may be recognized as sufficiently meeting the requirements based upon educational programs and specific experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, retail management, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 1+ year retail management and operations or customer service experience required.   
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage schedules, and develop staff. 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in inventory control, sales reporting, and loss prevention. 
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills. 
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities (store vs. event logistics). 
  • Proficiency in retail POS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Suite. 
  • Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance.  
  • Previous experience should include:   
  • Shopify experience  
  • Personnel management  
  • Retail operations  
  • Proven ability to build respectful working relationships and effectively communicate with employees, management, vendors, contractors, and community partners.   
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional team.

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.

  • Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance. 
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background check including a motor vehicle report.   
  • Ability to pass SafeSport training.

Physical Requirements: 
  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting, team store, and stadium store.   
  • Ability to work with moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and / or loud noise while performing work in the field and at the stadium.  
  • Essential position functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to:  
  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time 
  • Regularly talk and hear 
  • Occasionally walk; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist 
  • Lift, carry, push, and /or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight up to 50 pounds when receiving boxes of merchandise 
  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard with ability to grasp and reach 
  • And utilize verbal and written communication to exchange information 
 
Working Conditions 
While performing the essential job functions, the employee may experience the following conditions: 
  • Position may require flexible hours which may include extended days, nights, weekends, holidays. 
  • Deadlines and sales goals may generate stress. 
  • Noise Conditions: exposed to nose consistent with a standard office environment on a regular basis; exposed to loud noise occasionally. 
  • Heat / Cold: May be subject to heat, cold, wet and / or humid weather conditions, and occasionally extreme heat and /or cold. 
  • Atmospheric Exposure: Typical office environment conditions. 
  • Injury Exposure: May be exposed to mechanical equipment used to support players in their training. 
  • The club may accommodate some work from home and remote work based upon the needs of the club and suitability for the position.    
 
Compensation and Benefits 
  • Non-exempt position with an hourly range of $21-24/hr 
  • Paid Time Off including Vacation, Sick leave, Mental Health Days, and 10 Holidays.
