Lexington Sporting Club is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Communications Intern to support the club’s written content, media relations, and digital communications efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in professional sports communications, including website content, matchday media support, and real-time storytelling across club platforms.
Working closely with the Director of Communications, the intern will assist with written content production, media materials, web updates, and post-match communications that help tell the story of the club throughout the season.

Responsibilities
- Assist with writing articles for lexsporting.com, including club stories, match previews, and match recaps
- Support updates to weekly match notes and other materials distributed to media
- Assist with updating web pages across lexsporting.com
- Attend select media obligations and player appearances around Lexington, as scheduling allows
- Help collect and transcribe player and coach quotes following home matches
- Assist with clipping broadcast highlights for real-time social media use, including goals, key saves, and other major moments
- Track and record media mentions from local television, radio, and other media outlets
- Assist with creating digital content for social media as needed
- Support other communications and public relations tasks as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Current college student pursuing Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Management, English, or related field
- Strong writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clearly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with deadlines
- Interest in sports communications, media relations, and digital storytelling
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends during match season
- Reliable, organized, and able to represent the club professionally in media and public settings

- Event-based scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season
