Background:  
Lexington Sporting Club is a professional soccer club with a men’s team competing in USL League One and a women’s team set to compete in the USL Super League in August of 2024. In addition to the professional teams, Lexington Sporting Club is comprised of a youth club with over 1,000 players within its youth and academy systems, a pre-professional women’s team in the USL W League, two indoor soccer facilities, a $20 million soccer complex, and a soccer-specific stadium and performance facility opening in August 2024. The club is a community-oriented organization focused on providing opportunities for youth development, fostering competition, and delivering exceptional professional soccer experiences.
Position Overview: 
 The CRO will report to the CEO and is responsible for building and executing business development strategies for the club. This role will oversee all marketing, communications, ticketing, sponsorship and merchandising functions of the club and supervise the staff and outsourced partners supporting these functions. The primary objectives are to strengthen the club’s brand to drive ticket sales, drive fan engagement, deliver best in class fan experience and deliver corporate sponsorship revenues while managing the financial and operational aspects of the team. This individual will work in tandem with ownership and the operations team to execute the business plan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive and data-driven revenue strategy that aligns with the club's vision, mission, and values.
  • Overseeing and managing all revenue streams, including ticket sales, merchandise sales, sponsorship sales, broadcast rights, and digital media.
  • Leading and coaching a team of marketing and sales professionals, providing them with clear goals, feedback, training, and incentives.
  • Managing and executing game day promotions and game presentation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as sponsors, media partners, fans, and community organizations.
  • Analyzing and reporting on the club's revenue performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Promoting the club's brand and representing the club’s reputation in the market.
  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote youth club initiatives and events.
  • Building and managing the club’s CRM platform to deepen the relationship between the club and its participants and fans, following them through their journey. 
  • Collaborating with stadium and youth club leadership to create best in class experiences for fans, players and families engaged with the club.
  • Managing departmental budgets and reconciliation of expenses.
  • Assuring compliance with all league requirements.
Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities: 
  • Must have Bachelors Degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in a sales or marketing positions in sports
  • Experience in successfully developing and generating ticket and sponsorship revenues
  • A history of sales success and the ability to build and lead a sales driven and customer focused organization
  • Experience overseeing financial reports and budgets
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Proven leadership and management abilities
  • Strong communication and teambuilding skills
 
Salary:  TBD – commensurate with applicant’s qualifications.
