The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues: Gainbridge Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Position Purpose
USL is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our rapidly growing Partnership Marketing team. This role will lead day-to-day support of the USL’s national partners, with an emphasis on relationship management, activation, and reporting.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, proactive, thrive in a face-paced environment, and have direct experience in account servicing and/or management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Partner Relationship & Account Management:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for national partners, building and nurturing strong, long-lasting relationships.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each partner's brand, business objectives, and target audience to ensure activations are strategically aligned.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of partner activations, from logistical planning and budget management to execution and fulfillment.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Digital, Operations) to ensure all contractual obligations are met and partner needs are addressed promptly.
Inventory Management & Reporting:
- Manage the delivery and trafficking of all partnership assets, including digital media, broadcast inventory, in-stadium signage, and hospitality.
- Facilitate the creative approval process, ensuring partner and USL brand standards are met across all materials.
- Develop and present compelling quarterly and end-of-year partnership recap reports, demonstrating ROI and telling a powerful story with data.
- Meticulously track all partner assets, deliverables, and communications to ensure flawless execution and reporting accuracy.
Collaboration & Industry Expertise:
- Stay current with sports marketing and partnership activation trends to bring innovative ideas to the team.
- Actively contribute to strategic brainstorming for new and existing partner campaigns.
- Effectively present ideas and reports to internal and external stakeholders to gain buy-in and drive initiatives forward.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Management, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in account management, partnership marketing, or a client service role, preferably within a sports league, team, or agency.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively collaborate with clients, executives, and internal teams.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; you can manage multiple partner projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A proactive and resourceful problem-solver who takes initiative and works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong business acumen with a client-first mentality and a knack for identifying new opportunities.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must.
- Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
- Must have U.S. work authorization.
Work Environment
Based in Tampa, FL, USL Headquarters provides a vibrant and open working environment designed to promote collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and knowledge sharing. We believe in fostering a culture that encourages creativity, communication, and teamwork.
Currently, USL HQ operates on a hybrid work model. From Monday to Thursday, team members gather in person to harness the power of face-to-face collaboration. This not only strengthens the bonds within the team but also enhances communication and innovation. On Fridays, we transition to a remote work setup, providing our team with the flexibility to manage their tasks in an environment of their choosing.
Typical USL HQ hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm ET. Evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel may be necessary based on business demands.
