Calling all futbol lovers: this is a rare chance to work inside a professional soccer club whose ownership group includes global icon Ronaldinho. Get hands-on experience in sports business with two USL clubs, the Greenville Triumph (League One) and Greenville Liberty (W League), at an organization on the rise, backed by one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
This role supports the club's community relations efforts across the board, from grassroots outreach and fan mobilization to event coordination and CRM data, giving the intern broad exposure to how a professional sports club builds and grows its community from the ground up. A key part of this role is identifying and activating local supporter groups, community influencers, and passionate fans who can help spread the word and drive attendance. Being bilingual is a major asset here too: a significant part of our community, our fans, and our partners communicate primarily in Spanish, and this intern will be a valuable resource in helping the team communicate with and serve that audience.
This internship blends community relations, grassroots marketing, event execution, and commercial strategy, making it ideal for students studying Business, Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism.
What you'll do:
- Support the Community Relations team across all outreach efforts, event coordination, and partner communications
- Help identify and build relationships with grassroots community groups, local influencers, and superfans who can help mobilize new attendees
- Assist in developing strategies to activate supporter networks and turn engaged fans into brand ambassadors
- Serve as a bilingual resource for Spanish-speaking fans, community organizations, and partners
- Draft and translate marketing content, social media copy, and promotional materials from English to Spanish
- Help plan and execute matchday events, community activations, and promotional campaigns
- Enter and analyze CRM data to track attendance, engagement, and outreach trends
- Assist with social media content and game-day logistics
- Support sponsor fulfillment and help write recap and community content
What we're looking for:
- Fluent in written and spoken Spanish strongly preferred; a major asset in helping the club connect with our Spanish-speaking community partners
- Business, Sports Management, Marketing, or Journalism majors (or related)
- Comfort with data entry/basic analysis (Excel, CRM tools a plus)
- Interest in grassroots marketing, community organizing, or influencer/ambassador strategy a plus
- Strong communicator, comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Available evenings/weekends as needed
Apply if you're local to Greenville, currently enrolled in college, and ready to gain real sports-business experience with a club on an international stage.
